- Significance: The Hana Belt Road is a remnant of Mau's "belt" (around-the-island) road system. It retains a high level of historic integrity and character. The Hana Belt Road is relatively unaltered in terms of its historic setting and character, which includes the road's location, width, alignment, structures, scenery and vistas. The historic portion of the Hana Belt Road is listed in the National Register of Historic Places. The Hana Belt Road includes the highest concentration of stylistically consistent historic bridges and culverts in the State of Hawaii.
