- August-November: Ghulam Mustafa Jatoi heads Pakistan's first caretaker government after Benazir Bhutto's dismissal.[3]
- November: Jatoi's caretaker government ends following general elections in November which see Nawaz Sharif and the IJI come to power.[4]
- March: Imran Khan and his team wins Pakistan's first Cricket World Cup in 1992
