The Sunbeam-Talbot 90 was launched in 1948 along with the smaller-engined Sunbeam-Talbot 80. The body was completely new and available as a four-door saloon or two-door drophead coupe. The car went through three versions before the name was changed to Sunbeam MkIII in 1954 The 1948-50 Mk I got spats on rear wheels, lower headlights, no vents either side of radiator like later models. Engine; 1944cc 4 cyl The 1950 Mk II got a new chassis and larger 2267cc engine. The 1952 Mk IIA The rear wheel spats were no longer fitted.
1954 Mk III, now just the Sunbeam, got enlarged air intakes on each side of the radiator shell and three small portholes just below each side of the bonnet near to the windscreen
