Summary
| Description | English: .svg) A hypothetical, non-uniform lift distribution over the wing of an aircraft. Any spanwise change in lift would cause the shedding of a trailing vortex, not necessarily at the tip. In practice, the lift varies continuously over the surface of the wing and a sheet of trailing vorticity is shed behind the aircraft. Also, viscosity causes vortex decay (and disappearance) behind the aircraft.Français : Un aéronef hypothétique dont la portance n’est pas distribuée uniformément sur l’aile. Tout changement de portance le long de l’envergure provoquerait l’apparition d’un tourbillon marginal (pas nécessairement à l’extrémité de l’aile). En réalité, la portance varie continûment le long d’une aile, et c’est tout un ensemble de tourbillons qui apparaissent derrière l’aile. De plus, la viscosité de l’air provoque la dissipation (et au final la disparition) des tourbillons après le passage de l’appareil. |
