Summary

Description
English: The huge trideco antenna of the military VLF transmitter at Anthorn Radio Station, Anthorn, UK, with lakeland fells visible in background. The wire antenna consists of a central mast with 6 horizontal rhomboidal wire toploads radiating from the top at 60° angles supported by 12 surrounding masts, giving it the appearance of a 6 pointed star from above. The transmitter operates on 19.6 kHz with an output power of 550 kilowatts to communicate to submerged submarines of NATO forces.
