Bei der Lokomotive vor dem Personenzug Richtung Basel handelt es sich um eine Engerth-Lokomotive Ec 2/5 der SCB.

Liestal (Kanton Basel-Land), Bahnhof der Schweizerischen Centralbahn (SCB) an der Strecke Basel – Olten um 1890. Im Vergleich zu den beiden Bildern auf den Seiten http://www.eisenbahn-bilder.com/db/details.php?image_id=57634 und http://www.eisenbahn-bilder.com/db/details.php?image_id=76277 fällt der beschränkte Platz auf. Liestal besass noch lange lediglich zwei durchlaufende Bahnhofsgleise. Auch fehlt die separate Gleisgruppe für die 1880 eröffnete 750-mm-Schmalspurbahn nach Waldenburg. Diese benützte zwischen der Abzweigung Altmarkt und Liestal ursprünglich die Trasse der SCB, indem die Schmalspur als Péagegleis zwischen den Schienen der Normalspur verlegt war. Bei der Lokomotive vor dem Personenzug Richtung Basel im Vordergrund handelt es sich um eine Engerth-Lokomotive der Reihe B3 (Ec 2/5) der Schweizerischen Centralbahn (SCB). 26 Stück dieser, nach dem österreichischen Vorbild der Semmering-Lokomotiven von Wilhelm Engerth entworfenen Lokomotiven waren zwischen 1854 und 1858 von der Kesslerschen Maschinenfabrik in Esslingen (Württemberg) mit den Betriebsnummern 1- 14 und 27-38 geliefert und zwischen 1867 und 1879 unter der Leitung Niklaus Riggenbachs in der Hauptwerkstätte der SCB erneuert und verbessert worden, so dass sie eine Leistung von annähernd 400PS und eine – allerdings schon fast gefährliche - Geschwindigkeit von 75km/h erreichten.
