English: Arms of the Mayor and Corporation of Barnstaple in Devon: Gules, a castle triple-towered argent, in a strapwork escutcheon, detail of 16th century plaster ceiling originally situated in a mansion house in Barnstaple, (said by Pevsner to have been no.7, Cross Street (Pevsner, Nikolaus & Cherry, Bridget, The Buildings of England: Devon, London, 2004, p.338)) moved post 1912 to Stafford Barton by Charles Luxmoore. It can be dated by the strapwork decoration, fashionable in the reign of Queen Elizabeth I (1558-1603)
