Summary

Description
English: The simple event of a droplet impacting liquid is an everyday occurence in our immediate surroundings but the action all occurs so quickly that it's hard to appreciate the subtle beauty hidden in a brief instant like this. The image seen here depicts the split-second after the impact of some blue food dye into a saucer of milk. It was taken with the assistance of a Nikon SB-800 Speedlight flash, synchronised to a shutter capture time of 1/500th second. The original photograph is available in full resolution at this address.
