Description

"À l'honneur de ceux qui tentèrent et de celui qui accomplit". (Translation: In honor of those who tried, and the one who succeeded.) Monument erected in honnor of en:Charles Nungesser, en:François Coli & en:Charles Lindbergh.

Statue at the entrance to Le Bourget Airport near Paris, honoring Charles Nungesser and François Coli, who attempted to fly across the Atlantic aboard The White Bird (L'Oiseau Blanc), and disappeared without a trace, and Charles Lindbergh who made successfully the same feat two weeks later.
Date Statue: 1913-1924; inaugurated at Le Bourget on May 8, 1928.
