Himegoto

Portion used

front cover

Low resolution?

The book art is a size and resolution sufficient to maintain the quality intended by the company, without being unnecessarily high resolution. Copies made from it will be of inferior quality, unsuitable as artwork on pirate versions or other uses that would compete with the commercial purpose of the original artwork.

Purpose of use

The image is used to identify the manga Himegoto, a subject of public interest. The significance of the book art is to help the reader identify the series, assure the reader they have reached the right article containing critical commentary about the series, depict the major protagonists and illustrate the nature of the manga in a way that words alone could not convey.

Replaceable?

No free substitute can be constructed as Himegoto is licensed property of Ichijinsha, the image is of a minimal resolution, and use of this image does not interfere with the commercial value of the Himegoto franchise.

Other information

Use of the cover art in the following articles complies with Wikipedia non-free content policy and fair use under United States copyright law as described above.

The use of volume 6 specifically over the first volume is for several reasons:

  1. The first volume depicts only 1 main character when as early as volume 1, there are two main parallel storylines in the manga: Himegoto and its spin-off Himegoto+. The first volume would bias one toward thinking there was only 1 main character which the narration revolved primarily around, even early on.
  2. One of the main reasons for Manga cover images is to depict the artwork of the manga author. Volume 1's cover shows an earlier version of Norio Tsukudani's art, which changes considerably as early as volume 2, and is the style used throughout the rest of the series.
  3. Volume 6's cover is the only one to show any character other than Hime Arikawa, so there is no other alternative to showcase the protagonist of Himegoto+, Kaguya Arikawa.
