Summary

Description
English: Mastermoshai Studio is a single-storied octagonal building built for Nandalal Bose, one of the pioneers of modern Indian art and the first principal of Kala Bhavan - the fine arts institute of Visva-Bharati University established in 2019, in Shantiniketan, India. Nandalal Bose is fondly remembered as 'Mastermoshai' in Shantiniketan, which translates to 'teacher' in Bengali and hence the name. The studio, at the center of the Kala Bhavan campus, was redone with the current murals in 2011 and 2012 by artist K.G. Subramanyan - an alumnus and visiting faculty. Shantiniketan, the vision of Rabindranath Tagore's University Town, is currently on the tentative list for UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
