In der ursprünglichen Form als OS-Nr. 2 hatte sie einen offenen, lediglich durch einen kleinen Schirm geschützten Führerstand. Beim Umbau 1888 erhielt sie zusätzlich zum neuen Kessel auch ein Führerhaus. Die Lokomotive wurde 1913 ausrangiert.

Ouest-Suisse (OS) / Suisse Occidentale (SO) / Jura-Simplon (J-S): Güterzuglokomotive Typ „Bourbonnais“, Serie D 3/3 Nr. 2 „La Côte“ (spätere SBB-Nummer 3699), gebaut 1858 von der Maschinenfabrik J. F. Cail, Paris, umgebaut 1888 in der Hauptwerkstätte der Jura-Simplon-Bahn in Yverdon. Die Pariser Lokomotivschmiede J. F. Cail lieferte 1858 (3) und 1862 (2) insgesamt 5 Lokomotiven des „Bourbonnais“-Typs an die Compagnie de l'Ouest des chemins de fer suisses (Ouest-Suisse) mit den Nummern 1-5. Sie trugen die Namen „La Vaux“, „La Côte“, L'Yvorne“, „L'Industrie“ und „L'Agriculture“. Die Nachfolgegesellschaften der Ouest-Suisse (OS) - die Suisse-Occidentale (SO), die Suisse-Occidental-Simplon (SOS) und die Jura-Simplon-Bahn (J-S) – bezogen spätere weitere, in vielen Details abweichende „Bourbonnais“ von den Werkstätten der PLM in Paris, den Ateliers Schneider & Cie in Creusot, der Elsässischen Maschinenbaugesellschaft André Koechling in Mühlhausen/Mulhouse und von der Jura-Simplon-Hauptwerkstätte in Yverdon, so dass sich die Gesamtzahl der „Bourbonnais“-Maschinen der Jura-Simplon-Bahn nach 1892 auf 40 belief. Bei der Suisse-Occidentale waren die Loks von 1866 bis 1871 fortlaufend ab Nr. 51, nach 1871 ab Nr. 101 durchnummeriert. Die Jura-Simplon-Bahn gab ihnen die Ordnungsnummern 501 – 540. Die SBB reihte sie 1903 in ihre 3000er Serie ein, wobei sich die neuen Ordnungszahlen nicht an den früheren Nummern, sondern am Alter der Kessl bzw. Ersatzkessel orientierten. Die abgebildete, 1913 ausrangierte Lok trug die SBB-Nr. 3699. Alle von der J-S übernommenen „Bourbonnais“ schieden zwischen 1907 und 1925 aus dem SBB-Bestand aus. Die Lok mit der OS-Nr. 3 („L'Yvorne“, Jura-Simplon Nr. 503) war schon 1901, also noch vor der Übernahme der J-S durch die Schweizerischen Bundesbahnen (SBB) kassiert worden. Die umgebaute D 3/3 Nr. 503 von 1888, spätere SBB D 3/3 3699 (Bild), war die erste Compound-oder Verbund-Maschine der Schweiz.
