Description
Română: Biserica „Sfinții Arhangheli Mihail și Gavriil” a fost construită în 1889 de comunitatea greco-catolică din Măeriște, județul Sălaj, cu o cheltuială de peste 16 mii coroane. Materialul rămas de la edificarea bisericii a fost utilizat la construcția școlii confesionale a bisericii greco-catolice, inaugurată oficial pe 21 noiembrie 1892 de preotul loan Vicaş şi Coop Augustin Vicaşi. În 1908 erau 902 greco-catolici în Măieriște (potrivit Schiței monografice a Sălagiului, pp. 248-249). Biserica Greco-Catolică a fost scoasă în afara legii în anul 1948, iar toate proprietățile sale din Măieriște au fost trecute de dictatura comunistă la Biserica Ortodoxă.
English: The Church of the Holy Archangels Michael and Gabriel in Măerişte was built by the Greek-Catholic community in 1889. The Greek Catholic Church church was confiscated in 1948 and converted to Orthodox use.
