Description
English: .Henry Rosenberg contributed this statue to the citizens of Galveston. It was a memorial to the Heroes of the Texas Revolution. A dedication ceremony on San Jacinto Day, April 21st, 1900 and featured a parade and ceremonies attended by Governer Joseph D. Sayers. The monument was created by Italian sculptor Louis Amateis. It is made of bronze and granite and features the female form of Victory holding a laurel wreath in an outstretched arm pointing to the San Jacinto Battleground across the bay, where Sam Houston defeated Santa Anna winning independence for the Republic of Texas.
