Mankivka (Ukrainian: Маньківка) is a rural settlement in Uman Raion, Cherkasy Oblast, central Ukraine. It hosts the administration of Mankivka settlement hromada, one of the hromadas of Ukraine.[1] Population: 7,440 (2022 estimate).[2]

History

[edit]

Until 18 July 2020, Mankivka served as an administrative center of Mankivka Raion. The raion was abolished in July 2020 as part of the administrative reform of Ukraine, which reduced the number of raions of Cherkasy Oblast to four. The area of Mankivka Raion was merged into Uman Raion.[3][4]

Until 26 January 2024, Mankivka was designated urban-type settlement. On this day, a new law entered into force which abolished this status, and Mankivka became a rural settlement.[5]
