Queen Elizabeth (Hungarian: Erzsébet királyné) is a 1940 Hungarian historical drama film directed by Félix Podmaniczky and starring Katalin Karády, Klári Tolnay and Pál Jávor.[1][2][3] It was shot at the Hunnia Studios in Budapest. The film's sets were designed by the art directors Klára B. Kokas and Márton Vincze.
Synopsis
[edit]Elisabeth the young wife of Franz Joseph is titular Queen of Hungary, and is popular in the country which has a lesser status within the Austrian Emperor. Following the failure of the Hungarian Revolution of 1848, Hungarian patriots approach her to seek her support in gaining equality and independence within the Empire.
