Template talk:Hormone levels with oral estradiol

First graph's source: How were these E2 levels measured premenopause?

[edit]

Since I can't access the Kuhnz 1993 PMID 8240460, I have to ask this template's contributor(s): If these are premenopausal women, how are they getting measured at T=0 as having zero endogenous estradiol? Why are they rising from zero as if the dosing was for a postmenopausal or orchiectomied female? -- The only way I could imagine this making sense is if the study were measuring radiolabeled E2 alone, but neither this graph's description nor the available Kuhnz abstract mention radiolabeling.

I suppose it could also be that the graph is supposed to represent increase in E2 above endogenous baseline, but the graph's description doesn't mention that either.
