User talk:DanWarpp

June 2019

[edit]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Pinkerton (album); that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Points to note:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. Binksternet (talk) 17:18, 16 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Copying within Wikipedia requires attribution

[edit]

Information icon Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from Hercules (1997 film) into Hercules (soundtrack). While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. The attribution has been provided for this situation, but if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, please provide attribution for that duplication. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. If you are the sole author of the prose that was copied, attribution is not required. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 12:51, 21 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please refrain from making major edits on Wikipedia pages such as those you made to Nirvana (band), without first discussing your changes on the article's talk page, Your edit(s) require discussion to establish consensus as this is considered a major change. Your edits do not appear to have been discussed and have been reverted. Thank you. - FlightTime (open channel) 00:34, 29 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to disrupt Wikipedia, as you did at Block Rockin' Beats, you may be blocked from editing without further warnings. Thank you, - FlightTime (open channel) 00:35, 29 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@FlightTime: Hi. It wasn't me who changed the infobox image of Nirvana, LocalTheorist changed it 3 weeks ago with no opposition. I only reverted an editor claiming that the image is copyrighted. As for "Block Rockin' Beats" the cover is used in most publications and is a UK release. DanWarpp (talk) 00:42, 29 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@FlightTime: Why are you reverting my edits on other articles without explanation? DanWarpp (talk) 00:48, 29 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I have started a discussion with the other editors on both the Nirvana and Block Rockin' Beats articles. I will go ahead and undo your revisions of my edits to the other two articles since they have been made with no apparent reason. Thank you. DanWarpp (talk) 01:04, 29 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.

When editing Wikipedia, there is a field labeled "Edit summary" below the main edit box. It looks like this:

Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)

I noticed your recent edit to Harvey Danger does not have an edit summary. Please be sure to provide a summary of every edit you make, even if you write only the briefest of summaries. The summaries are very helpful to people browsing an article's history.

Edit summary content is visible in:

Please use the edit summary to explain your reasoning for the edit, or a summary of what the edit changes. You can give yourself a reminder to add an edit summary by setting Preferences → Editing → Tick Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary. Thanks! - FlightTime (open channel) 14:30, 29 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I think we should talk about this and reach a consensus so this doesn't become a huge edit war. Just because the band all of a sudden decides that their demo album is a studio album doesn't mean we need to do the same. We shouldn't change the numbers of each album without sources. That just causes confusion. Bowling is life (talk) 20:52, 20 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
