Welcome

[edit]

Hello Freqsh0, and welcome to Wikipedia! We're really glad you've chosen to sign up for an account; it offers numerous benefits in case you weren't already aware of them.

Thankyou for your contributions if you've been editing before you got this message. If you haven't, don't worry: there are numerous ways you can contribute to Wikipedia if you're not sure where to start yet. Either way, we hope you'll like the place and decide to stay. We all remember what it's like to be new, so don't let others scare you off.

[edit]

Here's some useful links that will help you get started.

  •   Tutorial - a collection of pages explaining the most important things for contributing to Wikipedia.
  •   Sandbox - the best place for trying things out. If previous edits you made to articles have been reverted because they were experimental or unconstructive, this is the place to make test edits.
  •   Wikipedia:Manual of Style - our style guide outlines our standards for ensuring that we present information in a consistent manner that promotes cohesion and professionalism.

Contributing

[edit]

With these references at hand, we hope you find it easier to contribute to Wikipedia. Here's a brief synopsis of some ways you can:

  • We obviously wouldn't have an encyclopedia without articles. This page shows how you can help them grow.
  • Removing vandalism and keeping the integrity of articles intact is a great way of contributing. More information on how to do so can be found here.
  • Fixing typos, correcting poor grammar and repairing broken links are just some examples of useful, behind the scenes contributions. Even just making things look nice makes using Wikipedia more pleasant for everybody.
  • If you like working with images, you might be interested in the Graphic Lab. Similarly, this page shows you how to work with images in Wikipedia articles.
  • This page lists the many types of tasks you can do to maintain Wikipedia.
  • There are numerous WikiProjects that aim to provide coordination and collaboration on particular subjects. From this list, you can join a project and contribute within an area that interests you.

Of course, there are many ways of contributing, but I hope that this message is helpful to you, and that you'll enjoy editing Wikipedia and continue to do so. You can respond to this message by clicking here if you have a comment or need help - don't forget to sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~), or you can place {{helpme}} on your talk page and write your query there. Hello Freqsh0. Thank you very much for your support in my recent Request for Adminship, which was successful with 111 supports, 0 opposes, and 0 neutral. I have to say I am more than a little overwhelmed by this result and I greatly appreciate your trust in me. I will do my best to use the tools wisely. Thanks again. Regards. Child prodigies

[edit]

You appear to be too zealous in deleting useful factual information. For example, Lavinashree, and Ujwal Bhat are true child prodigies; Fadul and Usain have been true child prodigies, getting the interest of psychologist when they were in their childhood, but somehow failed to make their mark in later life.PFlores3 (talk) 10:38, 24 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

May I suggest that you discuss first before deleting. You delete too fast and too much.MCLeander (talk) 00:50, 25 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I can see that you appear too delete-hungry to not a few but to many Wikipedians. Take it easy, buddy. HuntingTarsier (talk) 12:54, 28 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

What is this, attack of the redlink sockpuppets? Freqsh0 (talk) 19:20, 28 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I am not a sock puppet. Freqsh0, kindly stop it. Your delete frenzy is very counter-productive.Bunsoy (talk) 09:51, 29 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

May I suggest that Freqs0 try to focus on other articles. This edit war is such a waste of time and energy. CosmicAnthropologist (talk) 11:03, 2 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Another sockpuppet? Your account was created a few days ago and your only edits on WP to date are to undo my edits in that article, just as the other sockpuppets are doing. No, sorry, you may not suggest anything. -Freqsh0 (talk) 16:27, 2 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

What was the previous deletion discussion for this? I didn't see one. I've declined the speedy for now; please feel free to take this to AfD (or get me the previous link and I'll go ahead and delete it). Karanacs (talk) 19:01, 5 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the explanation - I figured it was some kind of mixup like that. I think it ought to go to AfD. Would you like to take it, or should I? Thanks! Karanacs (talk) 19:27, 5 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
The references are okay. I think that this is essentially a repeat of information that is (or should be) in American Civil War and Military leadership in the American Civil War. It is extremely POV and appears to be full of OR (despite the citations to some things), and it is written in an essay-like tone. I don't think this belongs as its own article at all, and even if it did it would need extensive cleanup. Karanacs (talk) 19:43, 5 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Your deletion in Albert Einstein

[edit]

I am wondering why you made this deletion from Albert Einstein. Without an edit summary it looks like vandalism. —teb728 t c 06:22, 17 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Jose Fadul

[edit]

Hi Freqsh0, do you know what to do for a repeat sockpuppet offender? I was following the Fadulj sockpuppet investigation and I noticed that he's up to the same thing again. I recently removed some references to him from List of chess historians and Experience, among others, and he's gone and put himself back on with the same kind of defense as before. 112.205.158.76 is a Filipino ISP making edits mostly on pages related to the Fadulj account. Ditto with user FadulJA. I'm not even sure how to start a sockpuppet investigation, or even if there's something else that should be done first. Can you help? I'm posting this on User talk:LessHeard vanU too. Thanks! Kleptosquirrel (talk) 05:06, 14 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
