[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that the username you have chosen, "Google9999", seems to imply that you are editing on behalf of a group, institution, company or website. Please note that you may only edit on behalf of yourself, and that Wikipedia does not allow usernames that are promotional or appear to be shared by multiple people. Please take a moment to create a new account or request a username change that represents only yourself as an individual. You should also read our conflict of interest guideline and remember that promotional editing is not acceptable regardless of the username you choose. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. Thank you. ⁓ Hello71 20:46, 5 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Even if you don't represent Google formally, it's probably best that you rename your account to be fair to all of those people who we block for having company names. More information is two section above. Have a good one. NTox · talk 03:18, 7 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

What is your source for the revised numbers? If you don't have one, you need to restore the old numbers. If you do have one, you need to include it or them beside the changes. 76.102.49.177 (talk) 17:06, 7 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

List of countries by population

[edit]

Hi. I reverted your edits to List of countries by population for multiple reasons, including that your change to Afghanistan as far as I can see isn't supported by the reference you provided, your change to Saudi-Arabia was only partial, changing the population figure but not the reference, and that your change to Canada broke the links to the Canadian population clock. In other words, do not make changes unless you're absolutely sure that you know what you're doing. Thomas.W (talk) 15:41, 14 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. At least one of your recent edits, such as the edit you made to List of countries by population, did not appear to be constructive and has been reverted or removed. Although everyone is welcome to contribute to Wikipedia, please take some time to familiarise yourself with our policies and guidelines. You can find information about these at the welcome page which also provides further information about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. If you only meant to make some test edits, please use the sandbox for that. Thank you. Do NOT make partial edits! If you change a population figure you must also provide a new reference, a reference that supports your change. And you must do it every time. Thomas.W (talk) 16:25, 14 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Various edits

[edit]

Please do not add or change content without verifying it by citing reliable sources, as you did to a large number of articles. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you.Thomas.W (talk) 16:56, 14 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent changes to a large number of articles and templates

[edit]

Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to blank out or remove portions of page content, templates or other materials from Wikipedia, as you did at a large number of articles and templates, you may be blocked from editing. Thank you. You should also discuss major changes to articles and templates on the talk page of each article and template before making the edits. Thomas.W (talk) 12:31, 15 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

This is your last warning; the next time you disrupt Wikipedia, as you did at Kansas City metropolitan area with this edit, you may be blocked from editing without further notice.   — Jeff G. ツ (talk) 19:04, 16 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Answer to your question on my talk page

[edit]

To increase the chances that you'll actually read it I'm answering your question about what you've done wrong here too:

There's plenty of information on your own talk page, both friendly advice and warnings/cautions, given by both me and other users. So read that, and make sure you understand it. Then follow the rules here by among other things providing references for all edits, not editing stuff/code that you don't understand (because I'm tired of cleaning up the mess your edits cause...) and not making major changes without discussing the changes on the talk page of each article, and reaching consensus, before making the edits. Request reason:

because I have been recommended to change my username and I think this is why I am block

Decline reason:

you are not directly blocked at this time. You are probably caught up in a range block. You will need to post another unblock request in which you copy the exact message you see when trying to edit, that will give admins the information they need to properly review this request. Also, please one unblock request at a time, and there is no need to bold and a enlarge all of your comments. Beeblebrox (talk) 17:54, 21 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Block

[edit]

You were blocked because you totally disregarded the rules here on WP and made hundreds of unreferenced changes to a large number of pages, obviously not even bothering to read the text on the pages before you made your edits. You also ignored all warnings you were given. And unless you change your behaviour you will be blocked again. In addition to that I have reason to believe that you were blocked indefinitely under other user names just a few months ago, so I'm going to keep an eye on what your doing. Thomas.W (talk) 16:51, 21 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

This account is NOT blocked. If you are caught in a range block, you need to post a new unblock request showing the message you're getting when you try to edit, so we can investigate. Note that you can't create new accounts once you have this one. If you are prevented from editing due to your IP address being blocked, please tell us what that is so we can investigate the feasibility of allowing editing from it while continuing to prohibit creation of new accounts. ~Amatulić (talk) 18:33, 21 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

I believe that he's trying to create new user accounts, so the block he's talking about is on his IP, not on Google9999. Because in addition to a 48hr block on Google9999 he got a considerably longer block on his IP to stop him from creating and abusing multiple accounts. Thomas.W (talk) 17:01, 21 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The block is on the IP and is for one month from the 18th. Peridon (talk) 18:30, 21 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I've closed both of your deletion nominations for the above page as speedy keep. your allowed to copy text from article's to your own user subpage, it's called userfying an article, and it is allowed. As I've explained, even if this was eligible for deletion, it would be nominated at miscellany for deletion, not articles for deletion. The nomination was premature. TBrandley 17:32, 19 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Google9999, and thank you for your contributions!

I wanted to let you know it seems an article you worked on, ALZip for Mac, is copied from another Wikipedia page, ALZip. It's fine to do this as long as you provide the following information in the edit summary:

  1. a link to the article you copied from
  2. the date you copied it

You can do this now by editing the page, making any minor edit to the article, and adding the above information into the edit summary.

If you're still not sure how to fix the problem, please leave a message at the help desk. It's possible that I made a mistake, so feel free to remove the tag I placed on the article.

Thanks again for helping build the free encyclopedia! MadmanBot (talk) 10:46, 30 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you recently tried to give iPad (4th generation) a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into another page with a different name. This is known as a "cut and paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is needed for attribution and various other purposes. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page. This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Cut and paste move repair holding pen. Thank you. Hello, Google9999, and thank you for your contributions!

An article you worked on Open webOS version history, appears to be directly copied from http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/WebOS. Please take a minute to make sure that the text is freely licensed and properly attributed as a reference, otherwise the article may be deleted.

It's entirely possible that this bot made a mistake, so please feel free to remove this notice and the tag it placed on Open webOS version history if necessary. MadmanBot (talk) 17:10, 30 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You could also click on the signature button or located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when they said it. Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 11:06, 31 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I'm YuMaNuMa. I noticed that you recently made an edit to iPhone that seemed to be a test. Your test worked! If you want more practice editing, the sandbox is the best place to do so. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. This message refers to your insertion of an infobox into the iPhone article using the iPad infobox as your template. Please note that other readers may rely on information in the article regardless of whether it has been finalised or not and as the table you inserted included information from the iPad article, readers may obtain incorrect information. As the automatically generated message prior to my comment states, the sandbox is readily available for editors to make massive changes to articles without the fear of encountering edit conflicts. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Orphaned non-free media (File:Phone (application for iPhone.jpg)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Phone (application for iPhone.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Hazard-Bot (talk) 04:19, 12 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Videos (application) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, a "See also" section, book references, category tags, template tags, interwiki links, a rephrasing of the title, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion template from the top of the article.

The article IPod Touch 2 has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Lacks any text to make it an article.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Non-free rationale for File:Apple Store Online US.png

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Apple Store Online US.png. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page.
