Working to remove Mark Roosevelt advert/peacock tags

[edit]

Hello, I am working to address your concerns regarding the advert and peacock templates you added to Mark Roosevelt's page on May 5, 2016. May you cite the passage(s) that warrant the templates so that I can fix them? Thank you so much. Johnnie Stringfellow (talk) 15:12, 7 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

The article Richard H. Demers has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no reliable references. Under Wikipedia policy, this biography of a living person will be deleted unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp/dated}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within seven days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. reddogsix (talk) 02:09, 20 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

You keep changing the biography of Nancy Newman. Unfortunately there are several errors in that biography, including an error in the article by Ken McKee. Nancy has asked me to change her biography since it is incorrect to her current YES Network biography, which I did. I ask that you please stop changing it back to it's incorrect version. Nancy Newman

[edit]

The article from Ken McKee is incorrect, as Newman is not her maiden name. However, that's not important. If you would like to keep the biography as is, please just simply remove any reference to the anchor name Nancy used in Canada, for privacy reasons. I hope you can understand. Hi Hirolovesswords. Just so that you know, if you want to move a page to a new name and create a disambiguation page in its wake, as you did with Bob Cutler, you should use the Move Page feature located at the top of the article rather than simply copying and pasting from the old page to the new one. If you use the move page feature, it will automatically create the redirect, which you can then change as a target to your newly-created disambiguation page. The reason you must use the Move Page feature is that attribution of the edit history is required for copyright. In other words, the edits that you built upon on the old page must be attributed correctly to the users who provided them, as this is required by Wikipedia’s copyright license. What you did by copying and pasting them makes its look like you contributed all of the content when you started the article, when in fact you kept some material contributed by others, which means that it is misattributed and thus the copyright permissions have been violated.

I have corrected the problem with Cutler, so there is no need to do anything now, but please keep this in mind for the future. Thanks. Canadian Paul 19:00, 14 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

December 2019

[edit]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Mike Kelly (gridiron football); that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Points to note:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing.
I mean, really? Edit-warring to shoehorn in a potential BLPVIO? Take it to talk, get a consensus of editors who agree with your assessment and there you have it. But as you must know better than me, BLPs always verge towards caution. ——SN54129 19:55, 13 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Linda McMahon

[edit]

Greetings Hirolovesswords--Linda McMahon chairs a number of organizations that collect and disburse dark money to causes and events designed to support President Trump. You and others seem to be resistant to stating this with regard to Linda McMahon's bio, even though this is substantiated by the footnoted article & blogpost (by a note legal scholar re election law, who is himself politically conservative). I'm new to Wikipedia editing, so there's a good chance that I don't understand the appropriate protocols. Scraigyonetwo (talk) 16:51, 10 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Notice

The article Paul McNally (basketball coach) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Fails WP:NBIO. No reliable sources, no claims of notability. Just because he coached five games for Boston College does not make him notable.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Paul McNally (astronomer), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page German. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 06:16, 14 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The article Mike Kerrigan has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this biography of a living person will be deleted after seven days unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

Liz Read!
