Film awards

[edit]

Hi, I notice you've been adding quite a few film awards stub articles recently. You've been using {{movie-stub}}, but that is now obsolete and being replaced with {{film-stub}}, but what would be even better is if you could subcategorise them. You are adding film awards stubs, so please use the {{film-awards-stub}} instead. Also if you add other stubs please try to subcategorise them to the lowest possible level. Thanks. --Cooksey 23:31, 23 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Templates

[edit]

Hey, I noticed that you designed the templates for Will & Grace. There are several ideas that I've got to make some pages a little bit more user-friendly in terms of the code. I'm trying desperately to understand how templates work, but Help:Template really isn't doing the trick. Is there an easier way of learning how to do that? Tomtheman5 21:58, 27 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Oscar images

[edit]

I don't think it's such a good idea to simply put an image of an oscar on a film page. If you're trying to highlight that the film received an Oscar, there are categories and infoboxes for things like that. The image only clutters the page and gives no new information. Please give a good explanation for the use of these images, or I will ask other users if I am right to begin taking them off the pages. Thank you, JHMM13 (T | C) 19:42, 2 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

From long experience I can be pretty sure that these awards will, if left as individual articles, be nominated for deletion; for example, we recently saw a a whole bunch of a radio station's top X hits of year X awards nominated in one hit.

These awards are not nationally covered (like the Oscars or Golden Globes), and even the Phoenix Film Critics Society is not exactly well known, however worthy it might be. I suggest that the best solution is to merge the awards to a table in the mian article, with each year's winners as a column. - Just zis  Guy, you know? Oline Awards

[edit]

I noticed that you working on the Oline Awards, and they are shaping up really nicely. But the only thing is that the article titiles need to follow Wikipedia naming conventions. That would be (for example): Online Film Critics Society Awards (XXXX) and not 8th Online Film Critics Society Awards. But, before I changed them myself, I wanted to check in with you for your inut on whether they (XXXX) shoudl be the year of production, or the year that the awards are announced. For example, do you think the eighth year of awards should be (2004) or (2005)? Since you keep up with them, I though you might know which one would be better for fans.--Esprit15d 21:08, 10 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Categories

[edit]

I've noticed that many of your articles are not categorized. You may want to make some categories for the Kansas City film awards and others. For information about categorization see Wikipedia:Categorization. --Samuel Wantman 09:26, 12 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Did both The Office (UK) and The Office (US) win Golden Globes? If it's just the American version you should probably remove the cats from the The Office article and move them to the US version's. Mrtea (talk) 23:46, 12 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Okay great, looks like you've made the switch. Another request though, don't forget to use edit summaries! Especially when you're doing what you're doing. It helps users who are watching articles quickly determine what's been changed. Thanks and good luck, Mrtea (talk) 00:20, 13 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Moving pages

[edit]

Hi! It looks like you're trying to move one or more pages. However, please stop doing that this way - the new name of the page might be good, but Wikipedia has another procedure for moving pages. Look at Help:Renaming (moving) a page: you need to use the move tab, and not cut and paste. Cut and paste moves don't take the edit history with them and thus violate the GDFL copyright terms. Also, in some cases, when the move might be controversial, you might first want to discuss the move on the article's talk page. If a move is not possible because a page with the new name already exists, go to Wikipedia:Requested moves. Thanks! --JoanneB 13:11, 15 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

You edited the wrong Pushing hands article

[edit]

Pushing hands is a martial arts related article. A DVD cover for a movie is NOT a suitable image to represent that martial arts concept. The article: Pushing Hands (film) would be a more suitable place for that image :). -- A human 22:59, 16 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

New categoires

[edit]

When you make a new category, please ensure that the new cat has been added to at least one existing cat. I have added several of your new cats for Category:Film awards as I find them in Special:Uncategorizedcategories . -- Pinktulip 02:11, 19 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, where did you get the data for this page from? Do you think Wikipedia really needs the results of every game played? If you are going to keep adding this info, please start wikifying it - ie put Roger Federer instead of Roger Rederer. 2006 French Open results pages

[edit]

Hi,

Just to say, good work on the tennis singles results for the French Open. Keep it up! - Nick C (Review Me!) 18:32, 29 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for updating the Maria Sharapova performance timeline after her French Open participation. Will it be ok if you update every relevant information (i.e. win-loss record) that might be affected by it? You already started it. It appears that you also updated the overall win-loss without updating the clay win-loss. And don't forget the career win-loss column. I tried doing it but got confused and I might just double count the results. Can you finish it? Thanks! Joey80 06:39, 5 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry to bother you again about this topic, which I brought up when you updated Maria Sharapova's page. I removed image again

[edit]

You inserted a movie poster photograph at Los Angeles Film Critics Association Awards 2005 where I had removed a comparable image two days before. If you disagree with my interpretation of the Fair use policy at Wikipedia you might consider voicing this at Wikipedia talk:Fair use. __meco 00:49, 7 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
