GOCE Drive wrap-up
[edit] Guild of Copy Editors January 2012 backlog elimination drive Greetings from the Guild of Copy Editors January 2012 Backlog elimination drive! Here is your end-of-drive wrap-up newsletter. Participation 45 people signed up for this drive this time; of these, 35 participated. This is similar to the number of editors who helped out in November. Thanks to all who participated! Barnstars will be distributed in the near future. Progress report Recent drives have been focusing on the oldest three months in the backlog. During this drive we were successful in eliminating our target months—July, August, and September 2010—from the queue, and there are less than 300 articles remaining from 2010. End-of-drive results and barnstar information can be found here. When working on the backlog, please keep in mind that there are options other than copy editing available; some articles may be candidates for deletion, or may not be suitable for copy editing at this time for other reasons. The {{GOCEreviewed}} tag can be placed on any article you find to be totally uneditable, and you can nominate for deletion any that you discover to be copyright violations or completely unintelligible. If you need help deciding what to do, please contact any of the coordinators. Thank you for participating in the January 2012 drive! All contributions are appreciated. Our next copy edit drive will be in March. Your drive coordinators – The Utahraptor talk, S Masters (talk), Diannaa (Talk), Stfg (Talk), Sp33dyphil (talk), and Dank (talk) |

GOCE March drive newsletter
[edit] Guild of Copy Editors March 2012 backlog elimination drive update Greetings from the Guild of Copy Editors March 2012 Backlog elimination drive! Here's the mid-drive newsletter. Participation: We have had 58 people sign up for this drive so far, which compares favorably with our last drive, and 27 have copy-edited at least one article. If you have signed up but have not yet copy-edited any articles, please consider doing so. Every bit helps! If you haven't signed up yet, it's not too late. Join us! Progress report: Our target of completing the 2010 articles has almost been reached, with only 56 remaining of the 194 we had at the start of the drive. The last ones are always the most difficult, so thank you if you are able to help copy-edit any of the remaining articles. We have reduced the total backlog by 163 articles so far. Special thanks: Special thanks to Stfg, who has been going through the backlog and doing some preliminary vetting of the articles—removing copyright violations, doing initial clean-up, and nominating some for deletion. This work has helped make the drive a more pleasant experience for all our volunteers. Participation Of the 70 people who signed up for this drive, 40 copy-edited at least one article. Thanks to all who participated! Special acknowledgement goes out to Lfstevens, who did over 200 articles, most of them in the last third of the drive, and topped all three leaderboard categories. You're a superstar! Stfg and others have been pre-checking the articles for quality and conformance to Wikipedia guidelines; some have been nominated for deletion or had some preliminary clean-up done to help make the copy-edit process more fun and appealing. Thanks to all who helped get those nasty last few articles out of the target months. Progress report During this drive we were successful in eliminating our target months—October, November, and December 2010—from the queue, and have now eliminated all the 2010 articles from our list. We were able to complete 500 articles this month! End-of-drive results and barnstar information can be found here. I noticed that you are also editing the fossa ovalis article. I was thinking, quite a lot of the article talks about patent foramen ovale, which already has an article. Orphaned non-free media (File:Zombistan.jpg)
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Zombistan.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Hazard-Bot (talk) 04:04, 29 July 2012 (UTC)

List of Youngest Birth Mothers
[edit]Hi. I took note well of your remarks.
I do not want to enter in conflict with you. I will re-examine point by point my modifications, and will try to shorten my entries (even if I tend to writing always too much !).
You must simply know, regarding your comment about my information not contained in citations (a remark that will be fair for several other entries, I know) : before contributing to Wikipedia, I collected a lot of information for me, but I rarely recorded my sources, web pages that I can not find thereafter. So, often what I say is true, but I can not prove it ...
In particular on the case of São Francisco de Assis, I swear that I invented nothing: it is really a prisoner "on leave" returned at her mother (neighbor of the school) who raped the girl; I absolutely have to find you the article!
Also, I will try to find the sources proving my claims, to complete our subject. I am going to revise everything, by comparing between my version (that I have copied on "MS Word") and your current text, then, I shall modify your text a point after the other one, rather than to crush everything by pasting the entire mine.
I invite you, on the other hand, to accept my "cutting" of the whole: it delivers "packets" of cases much shorter (usually 12-20, until thirty at worst), which responds better, I think, to the criticism about the length too heavy.
If I find that sometimes you have cut too much text, or that you have deleted entries that I would have kept, or that you have too rounded ages, weight, or height, I admit that you have done an excellent job of rewriting and grammar correction, inspired and useful.
As I noted on my "talk page", I am French, and I do not speak well English. So thank you for having "swept" behind me. If, in the future, I can transmit you the next cases that I will find for translation, it would probably be better...
I see that you've also invested yourself a lot for this page, and I hope that we can work together rather than against each other. I will work on the French version (in my language !) of this subject, as you advised it to me, and, for the English version, I shall confide you to complete it for me with the data which I shall find.
I had not dared to discuss with you, and I passed by the strength. I regret it… Let's collaborate !

Had I my wits about me at the time I would have asked for copyediting help at Parable of the Sunfish, so let me remedy that now. I tend to think of that article in terms of literary theory and philosophy of science, but it's also a fascinating window how biology was taught in this country back in the day. I also adjusted your TemplateScript scripts so they do what I think you meant them to do. Let me know if you re-enable it and something breaks. :) —Pathoschild 03:06, 09 August 2015 (UTC)
