Unreferenced BLPs

[edit]

Hello Sahafan! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 19 of the articles that you created are tagged as Unreferenced Biographies of Living Persons. Please note that all biographies of living persons must be sourced. If you were to add reliable, secondary sources to these articles, it would greatly help us with the current 496 article backlog. Once the articles are adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the list:

Chuck Berry

[edit]

As one of the significant contributors to the Chuck Berry article you might be interested that I have nominated it to be listed as a WP:Good article. There is often a delay between nominating and somebody being free to review an article; however, you may wish to keep an eye on it to see how the review progresses and perhaps help out on any issues if you feel you are able. Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute to the encyclopedia, but when you add or change content, as you did to the article 1974 Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks season, please cite a reliable source for the content of your edit. This helps maintain our policy of verifiability. Take a look at Wikipedia:Citing sources for information about how to cite sources and the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Hi! It seems you recently created an unreferenced biography of a living person: Monty Porter. The community has decided that all new biographies of living persons must contain a reliable source that supports at least one statement made about the person in the article as per our verifiability policy. Please add references as soon as possible. Thanks! --LaraBot (talk) 00:10, 4 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi! It seems you recently created an unreferenced biography of a living person: Jason Ferris. Hi, the article you created on 20 September has remained unpatrolled because our patrollers do not know what it is about. If you can, please expand the article within the next two days to avoid it being proposed for deletion. Please add the country where this takes place, and the kind of activity that is described. Be sure to add sufficient references. Thanks.--Kudpung (talk) 12:13, 19 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Many of these season articles are not independently notable. Would you consider moving them all to a "List of Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks seasons" page? I would be happy to transfer the information and redirect the current articles. Thanks --Fiftytwo thirty (talk) 20:54, 20 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Well I know they aren't much yet but I was planning on expanding the articles eventually (see: 1999 Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks season as an example). If you think that's appropriate then fair enough but I have noticed that most professional sporting teams have a page for each season. I mean you have to remember that one season is a long time and there is a lot that happens in a season and as I say, I plan on putting more info on the pages eventually (results, season summary, season stats - such as games played, tries scored by each player etc..). Up to you though - I'm fine with whatever you think is best but just understand that I do plan on updating them eventually - I have just been pretty busy lately.
Wikipedia:Notability (sports)#Individual seasons states "Team season articles should consist mainly of well-sourced prose, not just statistics and lists of players. Wikipedia is not a stats directory. It is strongly recommended that those articles be redirected to the team page if no sourced prose can be created." If you create as much content as there is at the 1999 season article then by all means, keep the articles. It seems like for the other teams in the league, some have all season articles while some have only a select few. For some of the less notable seasons, a list page may make sense. --Fiftytwo thirty (talk) 21:11, 21 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Nomination of Tim Bonhomme for deletion

[edit]

A discussion has begun about whether the article Tim Bonhomme, which you created or to which you contributed, should be deleted. While contributions are welcome, an article may be deleted if it is inconsistent with Wikipedia policies and guidelines for inclusion, explained in the deletion policy.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Tim Bonhomme until a consensus is reached, and you are welcome to contribute to the discussion.

You may edit the article during the discussion, including to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion template from the top of the article. NW (Talk) 15:37, 2 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The article 20th Century Masters: The Millennium Collection: The Best of Chuck Berry has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No sources besides Allmusic. Not a notable compilation, didn't chart or anything.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. A tag has been placed on I'll Be Home for Christmas requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a clear copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Notice

The article Matty Brooks has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this biography of a living person will be deleted after seven days unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp/dated}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within seven days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Tony Tonks requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a real person or group of people that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. ― Blaze WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 16:38, 18 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
