Image without license

[edit]

Unspecified source/license for Image:Sindh.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Sindh.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. Even if you created the image yourself, you still need to release it so Wikipedia can use it. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you made this image yourself, you can use copyright tags like {{PD-self}} (to release all rights), {{self|CC-by-sa-3.0|GFDL}} (to require that you be credited), or any tag here - just go to the image, click edit, and add one of those. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by MifterBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. --MifterBot (TalkContribsOwner) 02:27, 6 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Jatin Lalwani, and it appears to be a substantial copy of http://www.sindhiinfo.com/actor4.asp. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences.

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. CorenSearchBot (talk) 14:35, 19 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for editing it so it wouldn't be a copyright violation. Coppertwig(talk) 01:20, 30 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Replaceable fair use Image:Shiney-ahuja.jpg

[edit]
Replaceable fair use
Replaceable fair use

Thanks for uploading Image:Shiney-ahuja.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the media description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? J Milburn (talk) 23:03, 24 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not add commentary or your own personal analysis to Wikipedia articles, as you did to Sindhi people. Doing so violates Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy and breaches the formal tone expected in an encyclopedia. Thank you. CardinalDan (talk) 00:35, 15 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not assume ownership of articles such as Sindhi people. If you aren't willing to allow your contributions to be edited extensively or be redistributed by others, please do not submit them. Thank you.

Please stop assuming ownership of articles such as Sindhi people. Doing so may lead to disruptive behavior such as edit wars and is a violation of policy, which may lead to a block from editing.

Gamesmaster G-9 (talk) 20:05, 18 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

could you use the talk page please. Either way the article will end up locked soon at this rate. YellowMonkey (click here to vote for world cycling's #1 model!) 01:30, 27 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Please discuss this with Gamesmasterg9; you cannot contest edits simply because you disagree. Present evidence and gather consensus to support your view, please. If you can't and Gamesmasterg9 can, that version will go up. Thank you, Master of Puppets Call me MoP! :D 05:09, 27 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Alright YellowMonkey, give me one chance and I will and I will present evidence and gather consensus to support my view. -Skatergirl

Article on Sindhi names

[edit]

Skatergal, while the admins decide on the Sindhi people article, I was hoping you could help me with a related project. If you will remember, I shortened the section on Sindhi names in the article, because it was too long relative to the rest of the article. I copied the material there and created a new article, Sindhi names, and have added it to the group of names in different world cultures. The article needs to be rewritten and formatted. I can format it but I don't have enough information on Sindhi culture to rewrite it, which is why I want your help. Thanks. Gamesmaster G-9 (talk) 18:13, 1 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Skatergal, I see you're back. I was hoping you had thought about my request to help with the article on Sindhi names. Gamesmaster G-9 (talk) 00:39, 18 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of Sindhi ethnicity

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Sindhi ethnicity, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done for the following reason:

the material in this article is the subject of an ongoing dispute in the protected article Sindhi people

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as an appropriate article, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is appropriate, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Gamesmaster G-9 (talk) 22:35, 8 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

If you create article forks I'll block you. YellowMonkey (click here to vote for world cycling's #1 model!) 01:45, 11 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Unreferenced BLPs

[edit]

Hello Skatergal! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 2 of the articles that you created are Unreferenced Biographies of Living Persons. Please note that all biographies of living persons must be sourced. If you were to add reliable, secondary sources to these articles, it would greatly help us with the current 691 article backlog. Once the articles are adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the list:

  1. Tarun Mansukhani - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL
  2. Jatin Lalwani - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL
