Bruno Alves - Reply
[edit]Hello from Portugal,
I apologize for any inconvenience that may have stemmed from my edits, especially in the starts chat below (immediately after realizing what I'd done, I reinstated your version of it). However, please don't say I "revert(ed) an entire edit" when I did not (storyline-wise), I merely tried to reach a compromise between your version and mine, it was you that subsequently reverted pretty much all of my adjustments.
I have tried it again (if I get reverted again I will leave article in peace, don't want no bad blood and/or needless edit wars), but before so I explain here what I have done, step by step and respecting the order of the article flow:
1 - intro: I have the impression that if you say "has represented Portugal" then all those competitions one assumes he IS STILL representing the country in all the tournaments; however, since I don't want to pretend I speak English like a native, maybe I'm missing something there; 2 - why can't we write the link of the competition of AEK Athens; 3 - do not understand why can't we use ";" in the flow of this or that sentence; 4 - match results: to me, as a Portuguese person/editor/footy fan, it confuses me why do you folks say "2-0 win" and not "0-2", but OK I have to come to terms with/respect that; 5 - the name of the sub-section is PORTO, no need to repeat the name of the club over and over again; 6 - speaking of sub-sections, in the ZENIT one, I wrote "in the group stage of the UEFA Europa League" to avoid WP:OVERLINKING or WP:SEAOFBLUE, which will occur if you revert it to "UEFA Europa League group stage"; 7 - I still have a major difficulty understanding as to why club names must be piped in storyline and not written in full for extra detail (WP:COMMONNAME they say, if so why name the article - for example - CA Osasuna and not Osasuna), but I have to respect that as it's common practice (but if so, you missed the SPAL club); 8 - overall, I tried to avoid the tireless repetition of "club", as "side"/"team" have the same effect; 9 - last but not least, in the last two charts of stats below, the name of the page is EUROPEAN FOOTBALL, not EU FOOTBALL.
All in all, you'll see I am here to improve this (and all) article, as you (you now added +1 ref and wording to his int'l career, I added +3 sources overall). Attentively, keep up the good work (and if you re-revert/adjust again, please message me so that I understand where did I err) --Quite A Character (talk) 09:28, 22 June 2017 (UTC)

[edit]Brandon Williams picture
[edit]Hello. The image of Brandon Williams is clearly him. You can tell from his eyes, hair, body size/shape. Plus, he's wearing a United coat, and the file is called "Brandon Williams.jpg". Who else in the world could it be? It's only Brandon Williams - you know it, I know it. So therefore that image should remain on the article, in my opinion. If you do not know what Brandon Williams looks like, please search him up on Google. Anyways - I'm reverting your edit. Best regards. Paul Vaurie (talk) 20:43, 29 October 2020 (UTC)

[edit]Dean Henderson
[edit]Hi. I see you reverted my up to date Dean Henderson pic to replace it with the pre-existing three year old one. While I understand your point to some extent, what is a very up to date article deserves to have an up to date picture, not one three years old. Please revert. [edit]Paul Pogba
[edit]Hello,
every edit I made on the Paul Pogba page was referenced. Please don't disregard additional information for personal reasons such as club affiliation. Other so-called 'flops' such as Alexandre Pato and Bebe have the context of their careers explained in their Wiki articles, which is important. If you would like to edit the language used (other than direct quotes) feel free, but the information added was all valid and pertinent.

[edit]Sorry about the stats: I checked the last couple of subs, and they'd been updated, so I assumed the rest had been done as well, particularly given it was the day after the game. Should know better... cheers, Struway2 (talk) 17:12, 31 August 2022 (UTC)
- No worries, it might be fixed at some point on soccerbase anyway. They seem to make more mistakes than the likes of soccerway, worldfootball for some reason. Stuart1234 (talk) 19:18, 31 August 2022 (UTC)

[edit]Please update Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford, David de Gea, Bruno Fernandes; they played vs Wolves. Thanks. 2001:448A:50E2:513C:90C7:5F4B:9407:D0B6 (talk) 14:49, 31 December 2022 (UTC)
Access-date
[edit]You claim that "access-date" on a reference isn't when a reference was added to an article, but it is changed every update? Is that what you're saying? And could you point me to other football articles where the date is constantly changed? TylerBurden (talk) 08:15, 8 February 2023 (UTC)
- The "access-date is the date that the URL was found to be working and to support the text being cited". Of course to support the stats it will have to be updated every time. It is normal practice in the 100 plus articles in my watchlist. Just because there is poor practice in an lot of articles doesn't mean we should settle for low standards. Stuart1234 (talk) 08:59, 8 February 2023 (UTC)
- I suppose it makes sense when you put it that way, thanks for the explanation. TylerBurden (talk) 09:18, 8 February 2023 (UTC)

Bruno Fernandes IPA
[edit]Hello, I found out that you erased the link of the Youtube video that supports the IPA of the 'Bruno Fernandes' is [ˈbɾunu fɨɾˈnɐ̃dɨʃ], not [ˈbɾunu feɾ.ˈnɐn.des] which the commentators of the Premier League often say. Were there some mistakes or errors like the copyright issues inside in it? --YellowTurtle9 (talk) 10:40, 9 May 2023 (UTC)
Explain to me how transfermarkt is not reliable
[edit]How is transfermarkt an in-depth factual website on clubs, players, managers and agents etc etc isn’t a reliable source for Rashfords height? Elliotstone25 (talk) 12:30, 28 August 2023 (UTC)
- (talk page stalker) Transfermarkt is open to user-generated content, which means it's not reliable, even though it's moderated to an extent. – PeeJay 12:34, 28 August 2023 (UTC)
