ProloSozz it doesn't matter whether I have an "Ahnig" about Schwizërdütsch or not. Actually, since this is the English Wikipedia, it doesn't matter if I can read German or your Bärndütsch. We've had problems with users adding Mundart pronunciations to a number of articles, based solely on how they think it should be written. You might think you know the "one and only, true way" to say it, but without a source that agrees with you, it fails Verifiability. de.Wikipedia can not be used as a source because it is user generated and always fails CIRC. I can change the de.wiki article to pronounce the village any way I want to, as can you. So it can not be used as a source for anything.

Secondly, I'm struggling to understand what you've been trying to say about Urtene vs Urtenen. The name used by Swisstopo is Urtene and so I'm not clear on what Urtenen-Schönbühl and it's pronunciation has to do with a river without the "-n".Tobyc75 (talk) 20:04, 10 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Again: what has to be part of the article is the difference between the river and the village - only in writing and not in pronounciation, as both are pronounced exactly the same way: "Urtene" (omitting the ending n when speaking the name of the village). This way of not prounouncing the ending n is the normal rule with any village name throughout swiss german speaking Switzerland (and even above - cf. allemannic in Südbaden). Important here (in the case of Urtene) is that there are two things: "Urtene" (the river) and "Urtenen" (the village) - and additionally "Urtenenbach" - and the latter needs an explanation - as only in high german the binding-n is pronounced; in swiss german the pronounciation is "Urtenebach". For references please consult any kind of source about rules of the pronounciation of swiss german language. Again: a hint to dialect pronounciation is then indicated when the pronounciation does not follow the writing as expected - as the writing is in high german and the pronounciation of dialect does not follow the high german spelling - and that's the case here - and that's why a pronounciation remark is indicated here. --ProloSozz (talk) 09:11, 11 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, to distinguish between the river and the village you can use a {{Other uses}} template. As for the pronunciation, if there's a source that says that a terminal -n as well as the binding -n is ALWAYS not pronounced, then good. The last time you included references, there was no indication where in the 40-50 page documents they discussed how -n was pronounced, I couldn't find where they talked about -n and I had no desire to spend hours to figure it out. As in non-composite words the consonant suffix -n of the first word is not pronounced in swiss german (n-apocope) if the second word does begin with a consonant; in high german it is pronounced. This is a fundamental difference between swiss german and high german; just have a look at consonant rules on the page about Swiss German or ask any teacher of swiss german language about the exact rule. Btw: if the first letter of the second word is a vowel, then the -n is usually pronounced in both languages; but some non native swiss german speakers may not pronounce it. --ProloSozz (talk) 23:54, 16 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

FYI. You placed a warning stating Logan is outside map. While outside map, this still displays on template. Placement on map is due to part of its temple district being in Idaho (even though members can typically attend any operating temple). The Smithfield Utah Temple which is located just north of Logan will likely take this portion of the temple district once completed. No problem. It wasn't a warning, rather the edit summary was to explain why the outside = 1 parameter was added to the map. Category:Location maps with marks outside map and outside parameter not set is a list of all maps with a dot off the map for any reason, which I use to look for problems. If it's vandalism or a mistake, then I fix the problem. But if it's intentional, setting the outside parameter removes it from the error category.Tobyc75 (talk) 19:10, 15 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
