Non-boxy things

[edit]

Hello, Hi, Bonjour, Grüße, God Dag (that's Norwegian), Goede dag, Ciao, and Kaixo </b(>(which is in Euskara) (that's where I've got user pages) (not sure why in Euskara - never edited there). I've also got a talk page in Latvian - only looked there for refs. Strange. I've also edited (once) on the Breton Wikipedia.

Been here a bit now. Been there a lot longer. I'm a writer, book editor/producer, musician, and trivia addict inter alia. (Hi, Alia!)

Looking for more of those little boxy things (but not very energetically).

Until I find (or make) the right ones see below:

  • This user requests that you do not smoke while viewing this page.
  • This user now has two computers with Windows 2000Pro and two with XP Pro. (One tower and one laptop in each category.) (They came with XP Pro, but he's set it to look like 2000Pro...)
  • This user would not ruin a machine of his by putting Vista on it. He is suspicious of Windows 7.
  • This user has never Instant Messaged using anything and doesn't intend to. He also doesn't tweet, flicker, blog, digg or any similar things. He is considering Facing the Book - but won't be putting a link here if he does.
  • This user is looking for an easy way to remove Outlook Express (which is languishing in chains in a dungeon for making a nuisance of itself).
  • This user has now accidentally got Microsoft Office on one machine (didn't know it was there when he bought it!), but uses OpenOffice instead (and installs it for other people too).
  • This user (shock, horror...) has not got a working TV (or a licence). Please do not try to give him one. A refusal may (no, will) offend.
  • This user drinks real ale, real cider (in fact most ciders that don't say 'Original' or 'white' on the label) and, when the weather's right (or the food's extra spicy), real lager (i.e. Cain's, Samuel Smith's, and certain Continental ones such as Czech and Polish). He does not of choice drink 'beer' that comes from little fizzy taps (Worthington is just about passable in an emergency situation). He does drink lemon tea and iron brew. (Note: cider is alcoholic and is made from apples. If it's non-alcoholic, it's apple juice. If it's made from pears, it's perry. Real perry is nice. Small bottles with foil tops and little deer on them are not 'real' perry.)
  • This user is not a rapper, which may put him in a minority.
  • This user roasts parsnips. (He also roasts carrots.)
  • This user was born (according to his mother who was allegedly there at the time).
  • This user may grow old, but does not intend to grow up.
  • This user does not count the articles he's tagged for speedy deletion or weighed in against on AfD. He prefers to remember (but not count) those he's helped to survive, and is saddened by some of the junk that has to be removed.
  • This user has been a lexicographer and is a multi-instrumentalist. Both are legal in most countries.
  • This user thinks Korpiklaani are absolutely brilliant. He almost got to a Nightwish gig, but got stuck at the wrong end of the M1. He also likes 3 Inches of Blood and Cradle of Filth amongst others. And Trio Mediæval and Wevie Stonder too. He reckons there should be articles on Bragod who aren't heavy or metal either, but are like nothin' else you've ever heard, and on the Ensemble Clément Janequin who are too (some kind person has written one now!). There is an article on 3 Mustaphas 3, so he doesn't have to write one on them.
  • Even if you think you know who this user is, he isn't. So there...
