Actually, can you provide a source... Unfortunately, neither myself or other contributors can verify a fair use claim unless we know where the image comes from. If it comes from an online source, a URL should be posted; if it comes from an offline source, then we need some periodical or book reference... Hi. Was more or less wandering around the wiki and noticed that your category listing is weird. I see that many of the category links on your userpage are piped as "Hecht, Tony". Were you trying to get yourself listed that way? Unless I'm missing something, it doesn't work that way; you'll be listed as "User:Tony619" no matter what. The piped text only affects the collation, so you're listed as "User:Tony619" under "H", which doesn't make sense (Although it is an improvement over all the users listed under "U" because they don't realize the "User:" part is included by default).

Anyway, you'll probably want to fix this. The easiest thing to do is to put in {{subst:PAGENAME}} for the piped text, as it will do the Right Thing. Ddawson 20:47, 29 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Tony, sorry I didn't get back to you earlier. I don't object to your adding templates to the talk page, it is only your use of the "subst:" directive that I request that you stop using. When you use {{subst:, it copies the actual contents of the template message into the page. Updates to the template do not get propogated to that page. Instead, when you include a template without subst:, (like {{Project New Jersey}}), the result is that the freshest copy always gets pulled in when the page is rendered. The pages that you subst'ed the template contents into did not get the later changes to the template, including the updated categories and template rating contents. Compare for example [1] and [2]. Notice the differences in the New Jersey templates. Since you had earlier used subst: the page didn't get the updates that were present after I replaced it with {{Project New Jersey}}. If the file also doesn't have a copyright tag, then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. The Wikimedia Foundation will be conducting an all-day Academy at the National Institutes of Health, in Bethesda, Maryland, on Thursday, July 16. The team that will be teaching at the Academy, a mix of paid staff and volunteers, is looking for four more volunteers to be teaching assistants, providing one-to-one assistance in workshops whenever a workshop participant has a problem following the instructional directions. (We currently have two editors signed up as teaching assistants, and are looking for a total of six.)

The NIH editing workshops are only for two hours, but volunteers are asked to meet the Wikimedia Foundation team at the hotel in Bethesda at about 7:15 a.m. (time to be finalized shortly) and to stay for the entire day, which ends at 4:30 p.m. Lunch will be provided. (The full schedule can be found here.)

The team is not necessarily looking for expert editors (though they are welcome), just people who can help novices who might get stuck when trying to do some basic things. If you've been an editor for at least 3 months, and have done at least 500 edits, you probably qualify.
