DX cluster
[edit]Hi WillWare. The article DX cluster is currently up for deletion. This is mainly on the grounds that it is very poorly written and does not provide a context for the article. As far as I can see it is related to the DX communication article that you wrote (about four years ago!). I wondered if you might want to have a look and see if anything can be salvaged. Cheers TigerShark 22:17, 15 January 2006 (UTC)
- Looks like the DX cluster article is already gone. I don't know what it was about, so I'll assume that the right thing was done. -- WillWare 18:18, 27 January 2006 (UTC)
License tagging for Image:Wware hoverboard schematic.png
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Wware hoverboard schematic.png. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:
This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 19:06, 18 July 2006 (UTC)
A tag has been placed on Nanorex, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert notability may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is notable, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}}
on the top of the page (below the existing db tag) and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.
For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. RJASE1 Talk 03:58, 2 March 2007 (UTC)
Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on SnapTrack, by Paultyng (talk · contribs), another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because SnapTrack is blatant advertising for a company, product, group, service or person that would require a substantial rewrite in order to become an encyclopedia article.
To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting SnapTrack, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Please note, this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion, it did not nominate SnapTrack itself. Feel free to leave a message on the bot operator's talk page if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot. --Android Mouse Bot 2 14:16, 26 June 2007 (UTC)
Copyright problems
[edit]Hello. Concerning your contribution, Productive nanosystems, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from either web sites or printed material without the permission of the author. This article or image appears to be a direct copy from http://www.scribd.com/doc/833050/roadmap-2-main-text. As a copyright violation, Productive nanosystems appears to qualify for deletion under the speedy deletion criteria. Productive nanosystems has been tagged for deletion, and may have been deleted by the time you see this message. For text material, please consider rewriting the content and citing the source, provided that it is credible.
If you believe that the article or image is not a copyright violation, or if you have permission from the copyright holder to release the content freely under the GNU Free Documentation License (GFDL) then you should do one of the following:
- If you have permission from the author, leave a message explaining the details at Talk:Productive nanosystems and send an email with the message to "permissions-en (at) wikimedia (dot) org". See Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for instructions.
- If a note on the original website states that re-use is permitted under the GFDL or released into the public domain leave a note at Talk:Productive nanosystems with a link to where we can find that note.
- If you own the copyright to the material: send an e-mail from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en(at)wikimedia(dot)org or a postal message to the Wikimedia Foundation permitting re-use under the GFDL, and note that you have done so on Talk:Productive nanosystems.
However, for text content, you may want to consider rewriting the content in your own words. Thank you, and please feel free to continue contributing to Wikipedia. Icestorm815 (talk) 04:21, 12 December 2007 (UTC)
Productive nanosystems
[edit]Hello! I looked at your article productive nanosystems and I think the article bis-peptides is somehow related and the two articles could be cross-linked. Please tell me your opinion! Regards, Tirkfltalk 09:09, 12 December 2007 (UTC)
Mass deletion from Talk:Solar power satellite ??
[edit]I dunno if you realize it, but you have apparently just deleted 24K from the Solar power satellite talk page. I started to revert, but I think maybe you are still at it. Wwheaton (talk) 19:39, 26 February 2008 (UTC)
Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did to Talk:Solar power satellite. Your edits appear to constitute vandalism and have been reverted. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. I have now reverted all those edits, which deleted about 24KB of material. If I have removed something constructive by accident, you may want to restore part of them, but before an intentional mass deletion (especially on talk pages) it would be good to propose and announce it first, then wait a few days for comments (or not) from other editors before actually removing the material. Thanks. Wwheaton (talk) 15:38, 27 February 2008 (UTC)
- No problem. That was why I delayed reverting, figured maybe you weren't finished, but I realized you might have just made a mistake of that kind. Thank goodness we have other folks around to keep us in line.... :) Wwheaton (talk) 04:43, 29 February 2008 (UTC)
file sharing and economics
[edit]On your user page you have some interesting ideas on file sharing and economics.
Does https://www.fundable.com/ sound close to what you pictured?
Is there some other wiki that is more appropriate for discussing these ideas? Perhaps http://communitywiki.org/AlternativeCurrency ? --68.0.124.33 (talk) 08:10, 12 September 2008 (UTC)
I am proposing a move for an article that you edited
[edit]Please check Talk:The_evolution_of_cooperation#Requested_move, thank you. --Enric Naval (talk) 11:53, 21 October 2011 (UTC)
The article Robert Freitas has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Literally all the sources given are primary, and many of the claims are of questionable notability. What is the third-party RS coverage of Freitas? Where is the biographical coverage? Where are the independently notable awards? Where is the evidence of notability as a scientist or engineer? What fits, say, Wikipedia:Notability (academics), or any other biographical notability criterion? A long list of low-quality references doesn't make a high-quality reference.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. David Gerard (talk) 19:53, 2 September 2017 (UTC)
Invitation to join the Fifteen Year Society

File source problem with File:WillWare-n1ibt.png
[edit]Thank you for uploading File:WillWare-n1ibt.png. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. Please add this information by editing the image description page.
If the necessary information is not added within the next seven days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.
Please refer to the image use policy to learn what images you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. Please also check any other files you have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. --TheImaCow (talk) 15:13, 30 January 2021 (UTC)
File permission problem with File:WillWare-nsrb.png
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:WillWare-nsrb.png. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.
If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either
- make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
- Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to [email protected], stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.
If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to [email protected].
If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F11 of the criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. --TheImaCow (talk) 15:13, 30 January 2021 (UTC)
