Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You could also click on the signature button or located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 21:57, 4 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. In Ouvéa cave hostage taking, you recently added a link to the disambiguation page Gendarme (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. For more information, see the FAQ or drop a line at the DPL WikiProject.

The article The Libel Tourist has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non-notable short film film lacking GHits and GNEWS of substance, Appears to fail PW:NOTFILM.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. reddogsix (talk) 02:19, 11 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Nomination of The Libel Tourist for deletion

[edit]

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article The Libel Tourist is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/The Libel Tourist until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on good quality evidence, and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion template from the top of the article. reddogsix (talk) 03:45, 11 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I noticed your comment on the page for 330 kV-Line Donbass-Dnepr. I thought it was a good idea, so I moved all the contents to Kurakhovka power station and created a redirect on the old page. Funnyfarmofdoom (talk to me) 04:19, 27 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Mr. Thug

[edit]

why want delet the page Mr. Thug? — Preceding unsigned comment added by UchimakiPro (talkcontribs) 02:25, 8 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Basically, it's a concern about "Mr. Thug's" notability; Wikipedia requires that its articles be about notable people, places, things, etc that are of encyclopedic interest. An explanation of what makes things notable can be found here: Wikipedia:Notability. This must be supported by reliable sources, explained here: Wikipedia:Identifying reliable sources. If Mr. Thug's notability can be established in this way (by you or other editors), then his page will likely be kept. But from the quick searches I did of him, it looks like it may be a difficult task; however, you might know where to look for good information on him better than I since you have more of an interest in him, so I encourage you to try! Zujua (talk) 20:57, 8 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The Bundesverband CarSharing actually writes their abbreviation in lower case letters as bcs, never in capital letters. That is not "sometimes", but "always". Have a look at their logo and their website. Please reply in the discussion page of the article. Thanks! --L.Willms (talk) 06:24, 26 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Correction on your user page

[edit]

Hi, Zujua. You mention on your user page how you like "to correct peoples' grammar." You have the apostrophe in the wrong place. Because it's the plural possessive of a person, you would just add an 'apostrophe s' after people. So it's people's, not peoples'. Take care. --76.189.114.163 (talk) 21:13, 1 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Well, that's embarrassing. It was only a typo, though—I swear. I should also say, however, that it wasn't necessarily incorrect: I could've been talking about correcting the grammar of other peoples. I wasn't, but I could have been. Thanks for catching that, though. Zujua (talk) 21:38, 1 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Because you participated in a previous deletion discussion about this subject, I'm notifying you that I've opened Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Iain Martell (3rd nomination). Mark Arsten (talk) 22:54, 6 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

AfD

[edit]

Hi, I imagine you're doing new page patrolling which is useful work. But all the same please don't put AfD notices on articles when they are in the process of creation, and/or the work of experienced editors. Example Tomàs Buxó. Best to approach articles that have at least been left unedited for an hour at least. Cheers. In ictu oculi (talk) 11:18, 13 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Ah, I see you're creating a number of such pages. My apologies. But why not sandbox them until they're ready for mainspace? Alternatively, you might consider using the "under construction" template so that other editors understand that the page is undergoing a substantial revision. Zujua (talk) 11:33, 13 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
No problem, but no. I'm doing what I normally do. Both of those are time consuming distractions unless one is really leaving a page under construction. My view is that page history/timing needs to be looked at carefully before AfDs. Cheers. In ictu oculi (talk) 11:39, 13 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion declined: Larry Hornbeck

[edit]

Hello Zujua. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Larry Hornbeck, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: The article makes a credible assertion of importance or significance, sufficient to pass A7. Thank you. Martijn Hoekstra (talk) 14:10, 13 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on User talk:Afkha, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Thebestofall007 (talk) 23:04, 13 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for improving Sodhe, and your work made the page look better. I request you to have a glance at Kodachadri, an artticle about a hill in India, which I have tried to improve by adding citations and sub headings. Thank you.Rayabhari (talk) 04:38, 15 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

for copy editing Sodhe which made the page better. Rayabhari (talk) 04:42, 15 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

This article does have a reference - to IMDB, under 'External links'. Just because it doesn't have an explicit 'References' section doesn't mean it's unreferenced. Colonies Chris (talk) 13:10, 16 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I saw the IMDb reference, but I believe there's a general consensus that IMDb is not a reliable source for many things, and that it's not appropriate to use it (especially as a sole source) for biographies of living people. See WP:Citing IMDb for more info on that. I've updated the page with a more appropriate tag. Sorry for the mixup. Zujua (talk) 20:08, 16 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I've added several solid additional references but you've nevertheless tagged it again as needing more references. What's the problem? (None of the information is remotely controversial anyway). Colonies Chris (talk) 07:43, 17 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Well true, there's not much information there at all, but the information that is in the article isn't backed by the "references". The fact that your source "Movie Maker" says that she was born in Zambia, not Tanzania (as the IMDb says), doesn't instill much confidence that even what little information is there is correct. I'm not trying to attack you here, I'm just trying to illustrate that there is a need for reliable sources to be used. As the tag says, I'm simply requesting that others who see the article "Please help by adding reliable sources". Zujua (talk) 08:04, 17 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Actually MovieMaker says she was born in Kenya and raised in Zambia. Since the political divisions now known as Tanzania and Kenya were at that time under British colonial rule (and Tanzania - then approximately Tanganyika - did not even exist in 1942), MovieMaker and IMDB's statements could both be geographically (if not politically) accurate, but I've removed it anyway. Colonies Chris (talk) 08:43, 17 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Actually actually, it says - and I'm copy/pasting this to be sure - "Peploe was born in Zambia, and raised in Kenya..."
I see where you're coming from, although, I don't know if I'd call that "geographically accurate", since (as you say yourself) they are political and not really geographical designations. On top of that, Tanzania and Zambia (and Kenya) don't overlap, so it seems improbable that they could refer to the same geographical coordinates, unless the borders had shifted between the time of the writing of each source. I don't believe that's the case, and I think it's more likely that one or both of them are just wrong. It would have been more accurate to say "Tanganyika Territory" or perhaps "Northern Rhodesia" or whatever the case may have been at the time and place of her birth. Even less ambiguous would be the city or village she was born in. But in any case, thanks for changing that. Cheers. Zujua (talk) 09:47, 17 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. I created the above biography of a living person; can you please review this article? Is the subject notable? thank you.Rayabhari (talk) 08:05, 28 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Rayabhari! Yes, in my opinion, it seems to pass WP:ARTIST. Like most articles, I think it could benefit from further reliable sources, particularly for the biographical information. I'll try to assist in finding further sources for this info, expanding the biographical information in the article where possible. Zujua (talk) 07:28, 2 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Rayabhari, which points or section did you find to be most biased? You mentioned in the talk page something about the formation of a new state - I'm not familiar with the topic, but do you have any specific concerns with the information in that section? Zujua (talk) 10:55, 14 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I've just added 2 sources, they're in Dutch though. Have thus removed your deletion notice. Hope it's allright now. SuperTennis — Preceding unsigned comment added by Super Tennis (talkcontribs) 13:57, 10 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Super Tennis. Yep, that's perfect - non-English sources are fine, see WP:NONENG for more info on that and their usage. I have a couple of pointers, though: the most important one is to suggest that you please be careful to select reliable sources for the information - for example, the second source given, kovandijkvertelt.nl looks to be something of a personal blog site that might not be acceptably reliable. Secondly, if you could use inline citations it would help readers and other editors by more clearly identify which references refer to which section of text; this is probably especially important with non-English sources that are more difficult for English speakers to navigate and decipher. Hey, I'm new to Wiki and still don't understand how to communicate with people or where to find the guidelines here (I hope this reaches you!) I have thoroughly reviewed all court documents on Sara Kruzan's case (which I included in the references) and found the original article quite faulty as it did not detail her case and that in fact she killed G. G. Howard in self defense. In spite of this she was convicted of murder and sentenced to life in prison. I referenced each item and ALL the pfd files are available at www.saylovemusic.com/sara Please be more specific (to direct me to explicit guidelines, and or, please review all of the references I sited to see for yourself!) I am an author and I'm sure to cite and reference all my sources. I'll be glad if you can assist on wiki. Peace. -SayloveMusic 13:50, 9 September 2012
____________________

PEACE, I joined wiki specifically to update the page on Sara Kruzan as I found it to be biased after reading her court documents. I wrote and updated the entry and provided proper citations and reliable sources i.e. State of California Court Documents. However, it appears that you keep reverting the entry back. I find it to be extremely biased that the article paints her as a convicted murderer yet uses terminology such as "alleged pimp" and "alleged abuse", where it is WELL DOCUMENTED on STATE OF CALIFORNIA DOCUMENTS that there was an extreme history of abuse, that this was a well known pimp who had indoctrinated her for 5 years, as well as the hostage situation and the details missing AS CITED IN THE COURT DOCUMENTS that the man was about to rape her AGAIN when she pulled the trigger. I went so far as to upload all of her court documents in one location, where I cited that in the last of my references on the entry, so you or anyone interested could read these court documents for yourself. There was no opinion in my writing, only facts cited and taken directly from these court documents. I am not happy with your decision to repeatedly revert back the entry without doing substantial research on this subject. I would appreciate your help in having my entry republished here. Thanks Saylovemusic (talk) 07:59, 14 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Saylovemusic. I understand your frustration, but there are many serious issues with your revisions that should thouroughly be discussed on the article's talk page, especially before making frequent reversions and changes to other editors' work. One of my major points of contention was your removal of large blocks of properly referenced information; if doing so is ever necessary, it's important to thoroughly explain why that information was removed - a good place to do this is on the article's talk page. It is important that articles maintain a neutral point of view, and your edits seem very much to skew the point of view in one direction. The new text reads, in my opinion, like a personal essay on why she is innocent or otherwise shouldn't be held accountable for her actions - I can't say that I disagree, but none if this information is backed by reliable 3rd party sources; please see WP:RS for more information about what kinds are information are acceptable to use as references. For example, 1st person accounts written by the subject of the article are definitely not acceptable for this and most purposes. At most, you may be able to quote her accounts of the story, as long as you make it absolutely clear that those are her accounts of the story. If any conflicting reliable accounts are available, it would be necessary for those to be included in their proper context as well to maintain neutrality. Other sections of text are still without any reference at all, and other parts are referenced, but include other information that is not supported by the given reference.
I noticed also that another editor posted a link to Wikipedia's Teahouse which is an excellent resource for new editors that I think you should definitely check out. Quickly reading through some of WP's most important guidelines will also give you a much better understanding of what makes a good article and will make your edits more productive and far less likely to be challenged. I hope this helps...please ask me or visit the Teahouse if you have any further specific questions after you give those links a quick look. Cheers. Zujua (talk) 09:00, 14 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

THANKS ZUJUA, I APPRECIATE THAT YOU ARE PROVIDING INFORMATION THAT SHOULD LEAD ME IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION. I DO ASSURE YOU THAT EVERY BIT OF INFORMATION WRITTEN CAME FROM STATE OF CALIFORNIA COURT DOCUMENTS ON HER CASE. THERE WAS ONE POINT THAT COMES TO MIND NOW THAT I COULD CITE MORE CLEARLY, I.E., WHY THE PROSECUTORS HAVE KEPT SARA IN THERE ON A LIFE SENTENCE. I WILL BE SURE TO WORK THAT INTO MY REVISION, NO PROBLEM. THERE WERE MANY DETAILS THAT WERE WRONG IN THE PRIOR ARTICLE. THIS, COUPLED WITH MY BEING NEW HERE, AND STILL NOT KNOWING HOW TO NAVIGATE TO A "TALK PAGE" TO AIR OUT THESE REASONS FOR OMISSION, IS WHY I ABRUPTLY ALTERED THE ARTICLE. HOW DO I NAVIGATE TO A TALK PAGE? I'LL SEE IF I CAN FIND IT AGAIN AND LIST EVERY ONE OF THE DETAILS THAT GO AGAINST COURT DOCS AS THE ENTRY IS CURRENTLY PRESENTED. I DID READ THE MOST IMPORTANT GUIDELINES, AND WHILE I MAY HAVE MY OWN OPINION, THE ARTICLE IS NEUTRAL IN SO MUCH IS THAT EVERY SECTION WAS WRITTEN AND TAKEN FROM HER COURT DOCUMENTS. THERE IS ONLY THE CLOSING SECTION THAT DETAILS HER FREEDOM FIGHTERS THAT CAME FROM THEIR SITES AND OTHER BLOG ENTRIES. I CAN TIGHTEN THAT OR ANY PART UP. BUT *REALLY* AND *TRULY* EVERYTHING THAT I WROTE IS FACTUAL IN SO MUCH THAT IT COMES FROM COURT DOCUMENTS. ALL OF IT! IF YOU MERELY READ THE COURT DOCUMENTS I LISTED, YOU WOULD SEE THIS YOURSELF. THANKS FOR YOUR RESPONSE, AND ANY HELP WITH NAVIGATING ON WIKI AND GETTING THE UPDATE UP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED. THANKS! Saylovemusic (talk) 17:29, 14 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Haha, could be. Although, I have to admit that I'm a little unsure myself now. As Fuhghettaboutit pointed out in his edit summary, WP:JOBTITLES says that most titles shouldn't be capitalized unless they're part of a proper noun, basically. It's a guideline, and not a policy, however we'd still need good reason to contradict it. I'd argue that it should be capitalized since it's the title of an officially defined position rather than a generic term, but I'm not entirely sure that it's correct. I'll post this on the talk page as well.
As for moving the page, just click the little downwards arrow next to the "View History" tab in the top right of the window. Zujua (talk) 06:56, 4 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
