Wikimedia AI call 16 May

[edit]

Hey, in case you hadn't seen any announcements elsewhere, this might be relevant to your interests: There's a Wikimedia AI Zoom call tomorrow, 14:00 UTC, with presentations from different parts of the Wikimedia movement. It will be recorded.

See m:Wikimedia Foundation Annual Plan/2024-2025/Collaboration/AI call for agenda and sign-up. Johan (WMF) (talk) 14:02, 15 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

A requested move discussion has been initiated for O1 (generative pre-trained transformer) to be moved to OpenAI o1. This page is of interest to this WikiProject and interested members may want to participate in the discussion here. —RMCD bot 23:51, 14 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

AI standards supporting the EU's AI Act

[edit]

HI, I just added a draft page on this important topic that is not well understood. Would really appreciate it a reviewer could help! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:CEN/CENELEC_JTC_21 Smith5462343 (talk) 08:42, 15 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

The draft seems well-written as far as I can tell. The main question is whether the topic is notable enough, and I personally don't really know. There are a few style issues like the formatting of the sources (precising the website names), and WP:NOELBODY and MOS:BOLD, but that could be fixed later if CEN/CENELEC JTC 21 is notable enough for a Wikipedia article. Debate on the page "Artificial general intelligence"

[edit]

I would be grateful if someone could help reach a consensus on the page Artificial general intelligence. See the contentious edits and the discussions "Revert of edits on consciousness" and "AGI vs ASI". The main sources of contention are the definitions of AGI and ASI, whether materialist philosophers believe intelligence necessarily implies consciousness, and whether the sources support what is being said and their verifiability. This seems like the best place to ask. Is this article notable? There are not many sources on Google Scholar and Google, but I am not sure what counts as significant coverage for these types of articles. Spinixster (trout me!) 13:21, 29 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
