A Lista de exoplanetas descobertos pela sonda Kepler contém corpos com uma grande variedade de propriedades, com intervalos significativos em distâncias orbitais, massas, raios, composição, habitabilidade, e classe de estrela hospedeira. Em 2018, a sonda Kepler e de suas observações de acompanhamento detectaram 2.398 planetas confirmados,[1][2][3][4] incluindo Jupíteres quentes, super-Terras, planetas circumbinários e planetas localizados em zonas habitáveis de suas estrelas hospedeiras. Além disso, Kepler detectou mais de 3.601 candidatos a planetas não confirmados[5][6] e 2.165 estrelas binárias eclipsando.[6]
Além de detectar planetas em si, Kepler também revelou as propriedades de três exoplanetas já conhecidos. Dados públicos do Kepler também tem sido utilizados por grupos independentes da NASA, como o projeto Ciência cidadã Planet Hunters, para detectar vários planetas orbitando estrelas conhecidas coletivamente como Kepler Object of Interest.[7][8][9][10][11]
Kepler, lançado em 7 de março de 2009, foi projetado para observar uma parte fixa do céu visível e medir as curvas de luz das várias estrelas em seu campo de visão, e procurar de planetas que cruzam na frente de suas estrelas hospedeiras através do método de trânsito.[12][13] Desde o lançamento da sonda espacial, no entanto, a equipe Kepler da NASA e pesquisadores independentes descobriram novas maneiras de detectar planetas, incluindo a utilização do método de variação de tempo de trânsito e relatividade radiante.[14] Além disso, microlentes gravitacionais tem sido proposta como um método de utilização do Kepler para detectar objetos compactos, como anãs brancas, estrelas de neutrões e buracos negros.[13] Kepler também mede a luz refletida de alguns planetas já conhecidos, descobrindo planetas indetectáveis com o método de trânsito,[15] bem como melhorar o conhecimento das características dos planetas já descobertos.[16]
Em 26 de fevereiro de 2014, a NASA anunciou a descoberta de 715 exoplanetas recém verificados ao redor de 305 estrelas pela sonda espacial Kepler. Os exoplanetas foram encontrados usando uma técnica estatística chamada "verificação pela multiplicidade". 95% dos exoplanetas descobertos são menores do que Netuno e quatro, incluindo Kepler-296f, são menores que 2 1/2 do tamanho da Terra e estão em zona habitável, onde as temperaturas de superfície são adequadas para água líquida.[17][18][19]

Em 10 de maio de 2016, a NASA anunciou que a missão Kepler verificou 1.284 novos planetas.[20] Com base no tamanho deles, cerca de 550 poderiam ser planetas rochosos. Nove estão na zona habitável de suas estrelas.[20]

Em 31 de março de 2022, K2-2016-BLG-0005Lb foi relatado como o exoplaneta mais distante encontrado pelo Kepler até o momento.[21][22]
