The 2015 FIFA Women's World Cup was the seventh FIFA Women's World Cup, hosted by Canada. The tournament began on 6 June and ended on 5 July.[1] In a rematch of the 2011 final, the defending champions Japan met the United States. The USA scored four goals in the first 16 minutes, with three by Carli Lloyd, on their way to a 5–2 win and their third Women's World Cup title.

Artificial turf
[change | change source]Some believe that artificial turf causes more injuries than normal grass. More than 50 players have protested the use of artificial turf, saying that it is sexist. They filed a lawsuit against FIFA, however, they dropped the lawsuit in January 2015.[2]
