Daredevil is a fictional superhero appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. His first appearance in a comic was Daredevil #1. He was created by Stan Lee and Bill Everett.
Fictional character biography
[change | change source]The character is commonly known by such epithets as the "Man Without Fear", the "Devil of Hell's Kitchen", and is the alias of Matt Murdock, who is blind, but sees more than any seeing person. After pushing an old man out of the way of a car, he gets hit and radioactive chemicals get into his eyes and blind him, but also give his other senses super powers. Super hearing, boosted touch sensitivity, smell and taste. He lives in Hell's Kitchen, a fictional place in New York. His friends are Foggy Nelson and Karen Page. He has also met The Punisher, Iron Fist, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and the group the Hand.

Matt Murdock was played by Ben Affleck in the 2003 movie Daredevil. Most recently he was played by Charlie Cox in the Marvel Television productions Daredevil and The Defenders on Netflix, set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Affleck later made a cameo in a deleted scene of Elektra. Cox reprised his role for the movie Spider-Man: No Way Home in 2021, in the series She-Hulk: Attorney at Law in 2022, and for the upcoming series Daredevil: Born Again.
