Electronic band structure - Simple English Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

In solid-state physics, the electronic band structure describes the ranges of energy levels an electron can or cannot possess. Band structure is responsible for the electrical properties of a metal, such as electrical resistivity, and optical absorption.
