Gatlinburg is a resort city in Sevier County in Tennessee. It is 39 miles (63 km) southeast of Knoxville. It had a population of 3,944 at the 2010 census[7] and a population of 3,577 at the 2020 census.[8] People like to go there on vacation because it is next to Great Smoky Mountains National Park and along U.S. Route 441. That road connects to Cherokee, North Carolina on the southeast side of the national park. The town was called White Oak Flats or White Oak while it was still unincorporated.
