Mannar District (Tamil: மன்னார் மாவட்டம் Maṉṉār Māvaṭṭam; Sinhala: මන්නාරම දිස්ත්රික්කය) is one of the 25 districts of Sri Lanka. Districts are the second-level administrative divisions of the country. The capital of the district is the town of Mannar.
Geography
[change | change source]Mannar District is in the north west of Sri Lanka. It is part of the Northern Province. It has an area of 1,996 square kilometres (771 sq mi).[1]
