Narinder Singh Kapany - Simple English Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Narinder Singh Kapany (Punjabi: ਨਰਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ; 31 October 1926 – 4 December 2020) was an Indian-born American physicist. He was known for his work in fibre optics.[1][2][3][4] He was named as one of the seven "Unsung Heroes" by Fortune. He was known as "Father of Fiber Optics".[5][6]
The term fibre optics was created by Singh Kapany in 1956.[7] He was IOFS officer.[8]
Singh Kapany died on 4 December 2020 in California, aged 94.[9]
