Richard Trumka - Simple English Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Richard Louis Trumka (July 24, 1949 – August 5, 2021)[1][2][3] was an American lawyer and organized labor leader. He was President of the AFL–CIO from 2009 until his death.[4][5] He was the secretary-treasurer of the AFL-CIO from 1995 to 2009. He was president of the United Mine Workers from 1982 to 1995. He was born in Nemacolin, Pennsylvania.
Trumka died on August 5, 2021 from a heart attack in Washington, D.C., aged 72.[6][7]
