Shazam (/ʃəˈzæm/), also known as The Wizard or Wizard Shazam, is a fictional character appearing in American comic books published by both Fawcett Comics and DC Comics. The character was created by C. C. Beck and Bill Parker and first appeared in Whiz Comics #2 (February 1940). He is a powerful sorcerer and thunder deity whom is responsible for the creation of the Living Lightning. He is a member of the Quintessence and the Council of Immortals and has bestowed his power onto several champions, including Billy Batson (also known as Captain Marvel / Shazam).

Djimon Hounsou played the ancient wizard Shazam in the DC Extended Universe theatrical movies Shazam! (2019) and Shazam! Fury of the Gods (2023).
