Stefan Ilsanker (born 18 May 1989) is an Austrian professional footballer who plays as a defensive midfielder for the Austria national team.

Ilsanker began his career in the youth squad of 1. Halleiner SK. He first played as a goalkeeper but soon changed to the midfield. In 2005 he signed with Red Bull Salzburg, where he played in the Red Bull Juniors team. On April 4, 2009, he was in the squad of the first team for a league game. His first game for Red Bull Salzburg was a national cup match on August 15, 2009.[2] On August 25, 2009, he played his first international game for Red Bull Salzburg in the UEFA Champions League qualifier against Maccabi Haifa.

At the end of the 2009–2010 season, Ilsanker signed with SV Mattersburg.[3] In 2012 he came back to Red Bull Salzburg. In the meantime he is an important part of the first quad and plays in nearly all matches.

Ilsanker played for Austria at the 2007 UEFA European Under-19 Football Championship and was a member of the Austria national under-21 football team.

Stefan Ilsanker is the son of Herbert Ilsanker, who was part of the SV Austria Salzburg team and who now coaches goalkeeping for FC Red Bull Salzburg.
