Infobox
[change source]Hi. What was the infobox for? Of course I will help you. :) IWI (chat) 18:01, 2 June 2020 (UTC)
It’s for my user page. I’ve seen editors having them, and I wanted to make one but didn’t know how. Thanks. :) Grady240105 (talk) 18:04, 2 June 2020 (UTC)

Okay so you have Userboxes, where users list things about themselves, and a simple infobox like on the right. Which one would you prefer? IWI (chat) 18:06, 2 June 2020 (UTC)
- (talk page stalker) you can also see this page --Thegooduser Let's Talk! :) 🍁 18:07, 2 June 2020 (UTC)
Sorry for being a pain, but could you help me with a Userbox? Grady240105 (talk) 18:08, 2 June 2020 (UTC)
- of course. give me a second. I'll create your userpage. IWI (chat) 18:09, 2 June 2020 (UTC)
- Ok so I added a userbox for you. You can find a list of userboxes at Wikipedia:Userboxes. Copy the code and add it where I did. IWI (chat) 18:13, 2 June 2020 (UTC)
Thank you very much. :) Grady240105 (talk) 18:21, 2 June 2020 (UTC)
- Any time. Tell me if you need any more help. IWI (chat) 18:23, 2 June 2020 (UTC)
Simple English
[change source]I think you may have a misunderstanding on what this wiki is. We use Simple English here and as such we use different words than you might think should be used as they are simpler. In our category structure we use automobiles instead of vehicles. Please stop trying to change that in Lamborghini articles. -Djsasso (talk) 15:24, 7 July 2020 (UTC)
- @Djsasso: I don’t think you understand that "automobiles" is clearly more complicated than "vehicles". Also, there is no statement where "automobiles" must be used.
- Automobile appears on Wikipedia:Basic_English_combined_wordlist while vehicle does not. We go with the words from that list as much as possible. Based on the vocabulary we favor, automobile is less complicated than vehicle. Only (talk) 10:30, 8 July 2020 (UTC)
It's obviously not and this doesn't involve you. Grady240105 (talk) 10:40, 8 July 2020 (UTC)
- The list I provided you is the vocabulary we try to use. Automobile, in particular, comes from Ogden's list (http://ogden.basic-english.org/). If you continue to use vehicle over automobile because of your disagreement with the list, then you may be blocked.
- I should warn you that Simple English Wikipedia has a WP:ONESTRIKE policy. This means that if a user is indefinitely blocked on another Wikimedia project, we can apply an indefinite block here, too, rather than utilizing an escalating block system.
- I will further warn you that your combative tone you take is not endearing yourself to others and could lead to a block. Saying things like "this doesn't involve you", "I do not understand why you have digressed to a discussion that held no relation to you," and "Are you intending to reply, or have you realized that I’m right?" does not show that you're able to collaborate and communicate without causing conflict. Please watch the way that you phrase things in working with others, especially those that are attempting to help you or explain concepts about Simple English Wikipedia to you. Only (talk) 11:06, 8 July 2020 (UTC)
Only is correct. On Simple English we attempt to use words from the Wikipedia:Basic English combined wordlist whereever possible. It is the whole mission of the wiki. He is correct that if you continue to switch it we will end up blocking you per WP:ONESTRIKE. -Djsasso (talk) 11:19, 8 July 2020 (UTC)
Your threats don’t scare me and it’s not a "combative tone". I’m stating what is true. Grady240105 (talk) 11:31, 8 July 2020 (UTC)
I also don’t understand why you’re involving other things I’ve said that are completely unrelated. Grady240105 (talk) 11:33, 8 July 2020 (UTC)
Another point is that the list is American and I’m not using a regional word for an international car company. Grady240105 (talk) 11:35, 8 July 2020 (UTC)
- en:Charles Kay Ogden was English. Only (talk) 11:47, 8 July 2020 (UTC)
- Just because he was English, it doesn’t mean that he spoke proper English. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Grady240105 (talk • contribs)
Quite simply, there's existing consensus about the simplicity and complexity of some specific words. If you disagree with it, start a discussion on WP:ST to discuss, but taking a combative tone against multiple admins on your talk page and refusing to edit within the guidelines of established consensus is not going to help you in the long run. Best, Vermont (talk) 12:52, 8 July 2020 (UTC)
- @Vermont: Again, I explained that there is no evidence that I have "taken a combative tone", and I have not "refused to edit within the guidelines of an established consensus". But if you want to interpret that, then I cannot help that. Also, do you have any proof of an "existing consensus", other than an obscure website which yields no useful information based on the decisions of one man? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Grady240105 (talk • contribs)
- This entire wiki is based around his word list which is very well known among linguists. It literally is why this wiki was created. -Djsasso (talk) 17:11, 8 July 2020 (UTC)
You’re saying that a website was made because of some guy’s list of words? Also, the problem is that he died sixty-three years ago, so his list of simple words is every likely outdated. Grady240105 (talk) 17:33, 8 July 2020 (UTC)
- Yes a very well known person in language circles and an expert in the field of simplified English. Now we don't just use his Basic English as we have expanded the words we use to be a bit more flexible to include all the ones on Wikipedia:Basic English combined wordlist where possible. But yes the reason this wiki is called Simple English Wikipedia is because of our adherence to this drastically cut down vocabulary. His list only included 850 words but our combined list uses 2600. -Djsasso (talk) 17:37, 8 July 2020 (UTC)
- @Djsasso: So automobile is on the international list along with aluminium, not aluminum? Doesn’t really make much sense for consistency, but if that’s what he convolutedly added to his list... Grady240105 (talk) 17:42, 8 July 2020 (UTC)
- What you are talking about when you mention aluminum is a variant of English. We have a separate policy for that at WP:ENGVAR which you can read. -Djsasso (talk) 17:46, 8 July 2020 (UTC)
- @Djsasso: Explain this "continued edit waring" and "multiple warnings". I gave good reason for reverting the edits and there is no reason that I should be blocked. Grady240105 (talk) 17:51, 8 July 2020 (UTC)
- I have reviewed the block and found it appropriate. The block will stand as issued per WP:ONESTRIKE for on-going behavior problems here after socking on enwiki. This concludes the discussion. Operator873talkconnect 18:59, 8 July 2020 (UTC)
- And what are these supposed "on-going behaviour problems", then? I’ve been blocked unnecessarily and don’t see why you’ve "found it appropriate". But still, I clearly addressed "Djsasso", not "Operator873" with my questions. Grady240105 (talk) 19:06, 8 July 2020 (UTC)

In order for an unblock to be seriously considered, you would need to recognize the problematic nature of your actions of late and indicate how you will prevent it from continuing if unblocked. You've been told multiple times what you've been doing wrong, contested the notion that you're fallible, and when you're proven incorrect instead of recognizing it you decide to pick up a red herring and redirect discussion. It's insofar proven a complete waste of time to try to explain to you that your contributions have not been simple. So here's my last effort: This is the Simple English Wikipedia, we use Simple English, which has standing consensus as to what is considered simple and what is considered complex. Disagreeing with that consensus is welcome, of course, and if you want to civilly discuss your views that's perfectly okay. However, it is not okay when you ignore other editors trying to communicate with you, insult people, and refuse to consider other people's views. Regards, Vermont (talk) 00:07, 9 July 2020 (UTC)
