Borrowed your Israel Supporter Box

[edit]

Hi. I added your box of "supporter of Israel" to my site. Heres one you might like.

Oh great! Thanks for yours :-) --JewBask 19:50, 26 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

No prob. By the way, just as a matter of interest, where do you stand on the recognition of North Cyprus and Somaliland? If you support it, I can send over those boxes as well, but as they are Secular Muslim States, I thought it prudent to ask first. Expatkiwi

Cyprus is a complex issue for me, for personal reasons I can't be ojective so I prefer to decline airing my thoughts on the subject. But I do think both greek-cypriots and turkish-cypriots are victims of Ankara's and Athens' expansionist policies. I think the Annan Plan should be revised in order to reunite the island. Somaliland? well, it's a fact -the country works! I do support it; please send it over :-) --JewBask 14:29, 27 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Here you go...

This user supports international recognition of Somaliland .

And if you think a certain tiny 'country' in the English Channel is worthy of your support...

This user supports international recognition of Sealand .

Israel-Venezuela relations

I see that you are a Venezuelan and a Jew! The perfect combo for voting on whether or not to merge Israel-Venezuela relations into Foreign policy of Hugo Chávez#Israel. There are currently 10 oppose votes and 5 support votes, and I'm urging users to oppose the merge. You can vote at Talk:Israel-Venezuela relations#Merge Proposal. Hi! Just thought of this! With the proliferation of national WikiProjects, even one for Austria-Hungary, 90 years gone, do you think you could network enough Rhodies to justify such a project as this? See Wikipedia:WikiProject Burma/Myanmar if that sounds worthwhile. CheersChris 18:38, 21 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Alturas (frequent flyer program), by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Alturas (frequent flyer program) is blatant advertising for a company, product, group, service or person that would require a substantial rewrite in order to become an encyclopedia article.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Alturas (frequent flyer program), please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. Blocked

[edit]

{{helpme}} I am currently blocked from editing on Wikipedia, under the allegation of having multiple accounts. I get on the internet at wi-fi spots around Jerusalem or at the yeshiva I live and study, and I always log in prior to even searching for information. Now it is impossible to me to continue contributing, and it is nasty indeed to block me without verifying first. I edit articles in other wikipedias and never has happened such a case. Could someone please unblock me? thanks very much. --JewBask (talk) 15:02, 22 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You can request an unblock by using the {{unblock|your reason here}} tag and making your case. We have many, many users who use multiple accounts and then claim they have not done so, but if your edit history shows that you edit usefully and never disruptively, then you'll be able to make a case for unblocking. That tag will bring your request to the attention of administrators. -FisherQueen (talk · contribs) 15:34, 22 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Afrikaans Wikipedia

[edit]

I am sorry and i really have no idea why it would do this. The word jew isn't a bad or offesnvie word in afrikaans, the reason why might be because of the number of offesnvie 'anti-jewish' vandalism we get. I will discuss with an administrator why this has happened =) Bezuidenhout (talk) 07:15, 3 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I have talked to administrator and you can see his response here. Please note that i would love you to jion as we need some help editing the near-east (israel) and south america (venezuela), these are some of the only fields not covered by people on wikipedia. When you do jion i will tell you what 'in general' everyone's fields are. It's done. Just click the link above. Debresser (talk) 22:06, 2 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Obviously you could add all the other ones that are defined on your user page also. And of course you can now make your user page call upon these userboxes in stead of defining them. If you'd like me to do all of this for you, just ask. But you might want to try it yourself. Debresser (talk) 22:12, 2 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

By the way, you can find a lot of 'Jewish' userboxes on Category:Jewish_Wikipedians and its subcategories. Including the one on your userpage. Debresser (talk) 15:14, 3 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I am a bot notifying you on behalf of the the unreferenced biographies team that 1 of the articles that you created is currently tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. Thank you for the welcome on my brand new Ladino talk page. Truth tell, I don't speak it. Somehow, though, I just want to be connected to this Judaic language WP community anyway.

Could I make one request and one offer?
Request. Could you translate/create a {{User SUL Box}} for that Wiki?
Offer. I am currently in the process of writing a new article about Shabbat for the Simple English Wikipedia. When it's done, I'm guessing it might be something you could translate for use at the Ladino Wikipedia.

So long for now, and Shabbat Shalom. StevenJ81 (talk) 16:19, 15 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Ladino teamwork request

[edit]

Hi, Maor.

As I mentioned a while back, I have been working on an overhaul of the Shabbat article in Simple English Wikipedia. That is now complete.

As you know, there is not an article on Shabbat as Shabbat in Ladino Wikipedia. The article there essentially relates to Shabat as simply a day of the week (i.e., Saturday). I thought the article I just finished at simple would be a good one for you to translate and post in there. Entirely up to you; obviously, I can't do this. But I did think Shabbat was a worthy and appropriate topic for Ladino Wikipedia.

תודה רבה!

StevenJ81 (talk) 16:20, 20 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

You did it! Superb! Thank you.
I'm going to do the following, with your kind permission. I'm going to create an article called "Shabat (diya de la semana)" and include only the following:

El shabat, sabá o sabbad es el sieteno diya de la semana i se topa entre el viernes i el alhad. El su nombre da orijin ala ekspresion en lingua latina sábbatum i en mizmo tiempo de la ekspresion en ebreo שבת, shabbat ke sinyifika deskanso. Endemas de esto, el sábbatum es el kriador de la etimolojiya del biervo "sábado" en la lingua kastilyana.

I want to do this so that the interwiki links from "Saturday" articles can go there, while the interwiki links from "Shabbat" articles can go to your new article. Only thing is, can you then add a hatnote saying something like "For more information on Shabbat in Judaism, see Shabat"?
Shabbat Shalom!
StevenJ81 (talk) 19:08, 21 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I am delighted to report that simple:Shabbat was promoted to GA status today. I note that there are no FA's or GA's in ladwiki, so I suppose you could try to put up lad:Shabbat for GA if you want to. (;-)
Separately, would it be useful to you over there to grant me "importer" flag? Then I could bring in some useful templates and things. You'd have to translate, but I could save you some of the work, anyway, especially on things not needing translation (like {{FA link}} and {{GA link}}). Shabbat Shalom! Help request for mapping section titles

[edit]

Hi. We (the Research Team at Wikimedia Foundation) are building an algorithm that will align Wikipedia article sections across languages. For improving this algorithm we need the help of multilingual Wikipedia editors to provide true statements to the algorithm. You are contacted because based on your Babel template and/or content translation tool usage you know at least two of the following languages: ar (Arabic), fr (French), ja (Japanese), en (English), es (Spanish), ru (Russian).

(Note: by clicking the links in the following paragraph, you will be taken to Google spreadsheet.) If you'd like to help us with translating a subset of the section titles on or before 2018-05-01, please read and follow the instructions. If you see instructions in another language, please scroll down to find your preferred language. If you have questions about this message, you can contact us via Diego. Thank you! :) --MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 18:01, 17 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

unused, low-res, no obvious use

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.

This bot DID NOT nominate any file(s) for deletion; please refer to the page history of each individual file for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 01:01, 15 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Reuben and Rose Mattus, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Premium. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 06:00, 21 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Featuring your work on Wikipedia's front page: DYKs

[edit]

Thank you for your recent articles, including Ida Gomes, which I read with interest. When you create an extensive and well referenced article, you may want to have it featured on Wikipedia's main page in the Did You Know section. Articles included there will be read by thousands of our viewers. To do so, add your article to the list at T:TDYK. This can be also done through this helpful user script: User:SD0001/DYK-helper. WikiProject assessment tags for talk pages

[edit]

Thank you for your recent articles, including Ida Gomes, which I read with interest. When you create a new article, can you add the WikiProject assessment templates to the talk of that article? See the talk page of the article I mentioned for an example of what I mean. Usually it is very simple, you just add something like {{WikiProject Keyword}} to the article's talk, with keyword replaced by the associated WikiProject (ex. if it's a biography article, you would use WikiProject Biography; if it's a United States article, you would use WikiProject United States, and so on). You do not have to rate the article if you do not want to, others will do it eventually. Those templates are very useful, as they bring the articles to a WikiProject attention, and allow them to start tracking the articles through Wikipedia:Article alerts and other tools. For example, WikiProject Poland relies on such templates to generate listings such as Article Alerts, Popular Pages, Quality and Importance Matrix and the Cleanup Listing. Thanks to them, WikiProject members are more easily able to defend your work from deletion, or simply help try to improve it further. Feel free to ask me any questions if you'd like more information about using those talk page templates. Women in Red

[edit]

Hi there, Maor X, and thanks for all your interesting new articles. I see that recently you have been creating mainly biographies of women. You might therefore like to become a member of WikiProject Women in Red where we are trying to chip away at the gender gap. You can register using the box at the top of the project's main page. In any case, I hope you will be writing many more articles about women. Happy editing!--Ipigott (talk) 09:28, 26 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Correct attribution for translation

[edit]

Information icon Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you translated text from one or more pages into Herut Takele. While you are welcome to translate Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When translating a foreign-language Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've translated content, disclosing the translation and linking to the translated page, e.g., Content in this edit is translated from the existing French Wikipedia article at [[:fr:Exact name of French article]]; see its history for attribution. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{translated page}} template on the talk pages of the page you placed the translation. Please provide attribution for this duplication if it has not already been supplied by another editor, and if you have translated material before, even if it was a long time ago, you should provide attribution for that also.
