Proposed deletion of AMK Mini Coaches

[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article AMK Mini Coaches, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? Oo7565 (talk) 20:00, 25 June 2008 (UTC)==Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Gladiators logo.JPG== Thanks for uploading Image:Gladiators logo.JPG. Hi Unisouth. Ive replied to your comments at WP:LT. I just wanted to inform you that I have no intention to get into any conflicts and if you have a problem with me, I'd rather sort it out calmly now to prevent any unneccesary conflicts in the future. If it is the best way, I will happily leave WP:LT to prevent any conflicts. Kindest regards. Tbo 157(talk) 16:53, 21 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The Metro...

[edit]

Hello Unisouth,

I have done March's issue, in the new format, at User:Bluegoblin7/Sandbox3. please take a look and comment.

It will be uncollapsible except for delivery and archive, as it's pointless to display it as current issue any other way.

Also, colours etc can be changed. Let me know!

Thanks,

Article deletion

[edit]

{{help}} One of my articles Connect2Wiltshire was deleted because it did not have enough significance. Well it does becuase it provides the only bus/share taxi services to many towns in south Wiltshire. Without it people would not be able to get to places like Mere and Stourhead. Unisouth (talk) 09:17, 9 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It may be very significant, but if it is not asserted it can be deleted. I suggest you contact Happy-melon, the deleting admin, to get it undeleted or userfied so you can assert the significance and then re make it. Tiddly-Tom 11:35, 9 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Hi there. As Tiddly Tom says, the important issues is not importance, but notability. Wikipedia does not deny that there are many topics which are important to someone, but are nonetheless unsuitable candidates for a Wikipedia articles. Simply put, any article which is created, even if it is about a schoolboy who has made one amateur film that won a minor film award from a local magazine (which I have seen), is clearly important to the person who wrote the article (in that particular case, the guy wrote it himself, also creating a clear conflict of interest). So Wikipedia's inclusion criterion says, essentially, "You think it's important. Now show that reliable sources also think it's important". The guideline indicates that "a subject is considered notable if it has received significant coverage in reliable sources which are independent of the subject". This evidence for notability must be cited in the article itself; as you have seen, the absence of that claim to notability (whether the subject is actually notable under this guideline or not) is a criterion for immediate deletion.
So what should you do? Well, it seems you have an excellent chance of making a valid article here, as the topic is clearly important. All you have to do is prove it: find some newspaper articles, BBC news coverage, any significant news source will do, that also says that it is the only bus/share taxi service in Wiltshire, and what a great thing that is. I have restored the article and moved it to a subpage of your userspace - you can view and edit it at User:Unisouth/Connect2Wiltshire. Once you have found some reliable source coverage of the topic, add some references. Note that the article does not have to be lengthy - we have deleted much larger articles than this for not asserting notability, and many stubs survive with only a single sentence, as long as that sentence is a claim to notability. Once you've provided some good references, you can move it back to its original title in the mainspace. If you would like me or anyone else to have a look over the draft before you move it back to mainspace, just drop me a message on my talk page, or use the {{help}} template again. Happy editing! Happymelon 16:45, 9 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
That is more than adequate - feel free to move it back to the mainspace. Congratulations! Happymelon 17:41, 9 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Apologies, I was too quick to come to that conclusion. Sorry. Rudget. 16:27, 9 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Your RfA

Unless you come up with better answers to the questions, I humbly suggest you withdraw. Few would be willing to support with such bare bones answers. Nousernamesleftcopper, not wood 19:00, 9 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I agree with User:Nousernamesleft. Longer answers would help the voters get to know your opinions on the matters. You seem to be a very experienced user, but the answers don't reflect that. SpencerT♦C 19:22, 9 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I've closed your RfA early at (0/11/5), as there was simply no chance of it passing. I suggest you get more general experience at your belt; participate at WP:RFA, do some admin-related work (like WP:AFD, WP:AIV, WP:CSD), and most importantly, write some articles. Hoping to see you back at RfA in a couple of months, Maxim(talk) 02:55, 10 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Unisouth. Sorry about your RfA which I just came across. To improve your chances of passing RfA next time, I would suggest you become more involved in administrative procedures such as WP:XfD and CAT:CSD. It would also help if you are a bit more responsive to messages left on your talk page so that you can show just how great a user you are. You may also want to tick the "prompt me when entering a blank edit summary" checkbox in your preferences. Please feel free to contact me if you would like any more advice. Good luck next time. Speedy deletion of Template:LTportalframeless

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Template:LTportalframeless requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section T3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a deprecated or orphaned template. After seven days, if it is still unused and the speedy deletion tag has not been removed, the template will be deleted.

If the template is intended to be substituted, please feel free to remove the speedy deletion tag and please consider putting a note on the template's page indicating that it is substituted so as to avoid any future mistakes (<noinclude>{{tranclusionless}}</noinclude>).

Thanks. --MZMcBride (talk) 05:26, 10 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Can I ask you what this new page you created is for. It doesn't really look like a resource for Wikipedia but more like advice for passengers which is not the sort of information for Wikipedia and may be deleted. See Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not. Please reply. Thanks. Tbo 157(talk) 17:26, 19 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for replying. Thats fine then. But just a piece of advice that policies do apply in the Wikiproject space. Have a read of Wikipedia:Policies and guidelines and Wikipedia:Criteria for speedy deletion. You really should know policy like that if you wish to become an admin. Thanks for your cooperation. Speedy deletion of Image:Thorpe Park Map 2.PNG

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Image:Thorpe Park Map 2.PNG requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section I1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image is redundant copy (all pixels the same or scaled down) of an image in the same file format, which is on Wikipedia (not on Commons), and all inward links have been updated.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on [[Talk:Image:Thorpe Park Map 2.PNG|the article's talk page]] explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Location of disused halts on the portsmouth direct line.png

[edit]

Thank you for uploading Image:Location of disused halts on the portsmouth direct line.png. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this image under "fair use" may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the image description page and add or clarify the reason why the image qualifies for fair use. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a fair use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for images used under the fair use policy require both a copyright tag and a fair use rationale.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it might be deleted by adminstrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 12:48, 8 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Permission to use image

[edit]

Hello,

I am writing to ask for your permission to use your image of a Tramlink vehicle on a website. I maintain the Toronto LRT Information Page (http://lrt.daxack.ca) and am in the process of adding a page describing Tramlink.

The site is a non-profit site set up to promote light rail transit in the Greater Toronto Area in Canada. I had the opportunity this past Wednesday to spend a few hours making notes and photographing Tramlink and in searching for additional information to add or back up my notes, I came across your image.

Please email me at [email protected] and let me know if I can use your image or not. Also, if I may use your image, please let me know how it should be credited (either as "Unisouth" or by another name).

Image Copyright problem
Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading Image:Class 357 c2c Diagram.PNG. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 09:23, 12 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Fairlop Loop

[edit]

Hi again!

I spent the last few days writing up an article on the Fairlop Loop (and spending ages working out how to do the line diagram!), and I would be grateful if you could spend a few minutes seeing if it reads well, and also if there are extra Refs or External links that I could put in that I haven't thought of yet. I think the Categories are sufficient though. Many thanks, Sunil060902 (talk) 12:18, 14 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I've tinkered about with it a little more over lunch, can't put in too many more book references because Brown and Cobb are all I have! Also will put in a couple more pics at the Vicarage Lane end showing Ilford Depot as it is today, best, Sunil060902 (talk) 14:51, 14 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Alternative_subway_logo.PNG

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Alternative_subway_logo.PNG. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Rockfang (talk) 08:05, 10 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Notability of AMK Mini Coaches

[edit]

A tag has been placed on AMK Mini Coaches requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be about a real person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If this is the first page that you have created, then you should read the guide to writing your first article.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. AndrewWTaylor (talk) 14:53, 10 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Hello! Firstly, I'd like to apologise at the length of time it has taken me to reply. Unfortunately, I have just been on holiday minus a computer so I couldn't reply, so sorry about that. I should have put the "Wiki break" templates up but I forgot and then didn't have time. Anyway, to the icon: I did have a go at trying to remove the white background, but I don't have any decent image editing programs on my PC so I couldn't do it. I see you have had the image deleted so it doesn't really matter anymore thought it was a good idea if someone could rm the background. Arriva436talk 09:34, 20 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for uploading Image:A1 grand prix logo.PNG. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

This is an automated notice by FairuseBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. --19:07, 22 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I happened to stray across this, and so have added an appropriate fair use rationale. I hope you don't mind! Diagrams...

[edit]

Hi Unisouth,

Could I possibly use your diagrams on my websites, http://railway.transportcentre.co.uk, http://trams.wikia.com and http://uktransport.wikia.com?

Also, could you possibly do some for me? If so, please contact me off wiki!

Finally, I would like to say sorry for our disagreements in the past - can we start a clean sheet? Also, can we be joint editors/designers on the Metro? And yes, I think it's better to make it in the mainspace - we just don't add the link until it's time!

Thanks,

BG7 15:42, 24 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Unisouth,
No worries about sites - emails? Otherwise, i'll mention it on here. I presume it's trams/trains?
Also, I agree on design. I'll have a look around some other areas, and we can implement it for Issue 6?
Diagrams that would be helpful would be other UK Trams, such as Sheffield, Manchester etc, and trains would be (at the moment) anything in Central, one, Arriva and Southern liveries.
Thanks,
BG7 17:54, 24 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Yes I agree. Perhaps we should stick with the current one for now?
Oh, if possible tube trains too... highr priority!
Please do them around your normal life - they are low priority in the Grand Scheme of Things!
It's really appreciated, and sorry if i'm asking too much!
Thanks,

In this template the insertion of anything along with the "number" disrupts the reading of that number to display a related "Performance" pdf file at the bottom of the template. You are incorrectly using it for your Template:Ibus route. I am surprised that none of the regular users have bothered to comment. Perhaps you can fix it before they wake up. -Secondarywaltz (talk) 19:07, 27 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I am not involved in this project. I was trying to help you and had hoped that you could quietly fix the problem. You have made things worse in that now none of the articles can display the pdf file, not just the ones where you have inserted the corrupting information. They do not have this new parameter you created. Why not simply make that extra parameter to be "ibus = yes/no" and revert the template to work as before, except for the additional function created by you to display the logo only if the entry is 'yes'. You don't need another external template to do that. -Secondarywaltz (talk) 19:55, 27 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I have repaired this template so that if you enter the paramter ibus=yes then the icon will display after the number. Everything else has been reverted to work the way it did before. I think this was what you were trying to do. -Secondarywaltz (talk) 04:38, 28 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Some advice

[edit]

I just thought I'd give you some advice on edit summaries as you say you often forget to add them on your user page. In "My preferences", which can be found at the top right hand corner of your page, under the editing tab, there is a checkbox you can tick saying "Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary". This tool reminds you to enter an edit summary if you forget and is quite useful if you wish to become an admin. Quite alot of people look out for users using edit summaries in RfAs and im sure alot of users would strongly advise potential admins such as yourself to tick this box. Hope this helps and good luck with your RfA soon. Thanks. Tbo 157(talk) 23:28, 25 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Unisouth. Can I ask if you have a diagram of a British Rail Class 395 as I want to try and make a diagram myself and I don't want to make one that already exists. Thanks. Tbo 157(talk) 12:01, 28 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

When adding information to an article...

[edit]

Cite it. (the Angus burger (Burger King)) Also take the time to enter it properly, look how other items are listed on the page and copy it. --Jeremy ( Blah blah...) 07:59, 1 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

All I am asking is that you take a little extra time to see how the article is constructed. There is no citation about your entry as there is with the low-carb Angus and the western BBQ Angus sandwiches. Also, there is nothing stating where the product is sold, like the line right above it which states that the that particular product was sold in in the UK as a limited time product.

I'm sorry you if you took offense with my initial comment, but I usually just come straight to the point and leave a simple, terse statement instead of a long winded note. --Jeremy ( Blah blah...) 16:30, 1 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi - a stub template, category, or redirect which you created has been nominated for deletion or renaming at Wikipedia:Stub types for deletion. The stub type, which was not proposed at Wikipedia:WikiProject Stub sorting/Proposals, does not meet the standard requirements for a stub type, either through being incorrectly named, ambiguously scoped, or through failure to meet standards relating to the current stub hierarchy or likely size, as explained at Wikipedia:Stub. Please feel free to make any comments at WP:SFD regarding this stub type, and in future, please consider proposing new stub types first! Grutness...wha? 05:01, 3 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of S & M Cafe

[edit]

A tag has been placed on S & M Cafe, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read our the guidelines on spam as well as the Wikipedia:Business' FAQ for more information.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. Bit Lordy (talk) 09:47, 4 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but you removed a speedy deletion tag from a page you have created yourself. If you do not believe the page should be deleted, you can place a {{hangon}} tag on the page, under the existing speedy deletion tag (please do not remove the speedy deletion tag), and make your case on the page's talk page. Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. Thank you. Bit Lordy (talk) 11:20, 4 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Player logo 2.JPG)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Player logo 2.JPG. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Bus company articles in danger

[edit]

I thought I would inform you of quite a big problem that has happened today. If you look at Talk:First Leeds, User Talk:Lradrama and User talk:Richard Harvey you will see that Richard Harvey has taken it upon himself to remove a lot of content from articles without anyone (unless you happened to see Talk:First Leeds) knowing. While I accept that fares and other info is a bit excessive, I feel that removing routes is going too far, as they are the most important part of what a bus company does. All the articles have just been changed without any discussion, unless of course you have happened to see Talk:First Leeds.

However, what I think will worry you most is the fact that Richard Harvey has decided to redirect all of the bus route articles in Glasgow and the West Midlands to their operators. This could cause a particular problem when he comes to the London Buses routes, these have already survived deletions, I don't know what he is going to do! Anyway, this was just to inform you, you can take any action you feel necessary, even nothing!!! Arriva436talk 17:52, 10 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Excellent! Thanks for your support in this. I just thought I'd notify you on this, I think we need as many people in the discussion as possible to get a solution to this. It appears that we are getting into diplomatic discussion now! Arriva436talk 15:21, 11 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

i am so sorry..

[edit]

That picture you have taken of the modern Pizza Hut honestly hurts to look at. Not because of the artistic quality of the picture, but because of its contents. I'm from the States, and when I saw that picture I genuinely thought that Pizza Hut was down the street from my house in Southern California. The landscaping and car park bigger than the restaurant itself just look so ridiculously American. When I first went to the UK, I was in shock by all the McDonalds, Pizza Huts, Subways, KFCs, and other disgusting restaurants from my country that I actually saw people eating at. There is a McDonalds half a mile from my house, and I drive by it everyday, and I have never seen more than two or three cars in front, but the sushi restaurant across the street is always absolutely full. So naturally, I found it completely strange that these sort of places were full in London! Queues out the door during Burger King's breakfast, and not an empty table in a Pizza Hut around 6pm.

Basically, I'd just like to apologise on behalf of the greedy corporations in my country for making your country look identical to mine. That Pizza Hut in Portsmouth would not be out of place in any middle-class suburban neighbourhood in California, and quite frankly that scares me. Globalisation is one thing, but aesthetic uniformity across different nations is a frightening notion. Having a Mcdonalds at the bottom of a Victorian building is one thing, but this Pizza Hut should not be allowed! Like Morrissey said in 1987,

"I believe that everything went downhill from the moment the McDonald's chain was given licence to invade England - don't laugh I'm serious. To me it was like the outbreak of war and I couldn't understand why English troops weren't retaliating."

If you'd like to reply to this, please send me an email at [email protected], I would love to hear your outlook. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Ericxpenner (talkcontribs) 01:22, 15 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of Last of the Summer Wine (series 30)

[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Last of the Summer Wine (series 30), suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process.

Oxford Wikimania 2010 and Wikimedia UK v2.0 Notice

[edit]

Hi,

As a regularly contributing UK Wikipedian, we were wondering if you wanted to contribute to the Oxford bid to host the 2010 Wikimania conference. Please see here for details of how to get involved, we need all the help we can get if we are to put in a compelling bid.

We are also in the process of forming a new UK Wikimedia chapter to replace the soon to be folded old one. If you are interested in helping shape our plans, showing your support or becoming a future member or board member, please head over to the Wikimedia UK v2.0 page and let us know. We plan on holding an election in the next month to find the initial board, who will oversee the process of founding the company and accepting membership applications. They will then call an AGM to formally elect a new board who after obtaining charitable status will start the fund raising, promotion and active support for the UK Wikimedian community for which the chapter is being founded.

You may also wish to attend the next London meet-up at which both of these issues will be discussed. If you can't attend this meetup, you may want to watch Wikipedia:Meetup, for updates on future meets.

We look forward to hearing from you soon, and we send our apologies for this automated intrusion onto your talk page!

A tag has been placed on Westminster Passenger Services Association requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a company or corporation, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for companies and corporations.

Speedy deletion of Optare Rapta

Pillar box

[edit]

In your edit summary with your Pillar box edit you write: "I believe I found the Havant location but is located within the borough at Worlds End". Belief is for religion, while verifiability is for encyclopaedias. So, do you know, or not know, if the box you found is in Denmead and if you can confirm this belief with a verifiable source? Personal knowledge or research is unfortunately not verifiable or Wikipedia acceptable. Someone else has taken a photograph of the First National Standard pillar box [1]. I have visited the location and it is near a George Gale & Co public house at Worlds End, Denmead in the borough of Havant. However the box number P07 97 hovever suggests that there might be another First National Standard in Havant. So if there is another First National Standard pillar box in Havant please let me know! Those diagrams of various trains you do must take *ages*. It's good that you're doing them, but perhaps you could consider doing them in SVG format so that they're more easily modifyable for other projects? Inkscape is a cross-platform application which allows you to do that :)

Goodbye

[edit]

Sorry to see you go. You have done a lot of hard work on Wikipedia in many different areas. WikiProject:LT is probably the main thing. But we all have to go sometimes. Thanks for the help and support you've given me! If you never come back, then good luck and goodbye! Arriva436talk/contribs 16:32, 6 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Images

[edit]

There's a proposal to delete or improve the quality/systematise the use of  : the drawn images of train liveies at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Trains#Drawn_images_of_liverys_-_conflict_over_removal

I see that you have contributed some of them. eg

Could you contribute please.

Specifically there are a few issues -

  • trademark (are the liveries trademarked)
  • Accuracy - do you have detailed descriptions of the liveries - if so it would be very useful if you could supply links to the descriptions - specifically in terms of the type of paint used (eg as a British Standard colour or similar)
